I do. I don't like to see really little ones running around unsupervised, but I don't see that in my neighborhood here.
I have seen it before, though. Back in the early 90s a young mother and her little boy and girl (around 3yrs-old) lived right across the street from me. The mother's neglect was so alarming, I went and told her I could watch her kids for her if she ever needed the help. She brought them to my house that evening and she didn't come back. I'm serious.
Over 2 weeks later, a lady came looking for the kids. She said she was their aunt and she immediately called their father (the mom was his ex-wife). He got to my place pretty quick to pick them up....along with all the clothes, shoes, toys and diapers I bought them.
He was extremely upset and concerned, and like checked them over for injuries and whatever - because who knows, right?....that guy didn't know me. Well, neither did the young mom, for that matter. Anyway, he struck me as a pretty decent guy, so I felt very ok with letting the kids go with him. And they didn't hesitate.
But I digress....
Yeah, I like kids living in my neighborhood. Well-cared for ones, especially.
