Wonderful news, congratulations. She and her husband are surely very happy and blessed.

Very late babies are unusual though. After 50 women are highly unlikely to conceive naturally.

Has anyone here had a baby late in life - say over age 45 and how did you cope with the demands of parenthood? Also, did you choose to get pregnant late or was it just natural ?

No..I had mine when I was young.. and with regard to Victoria.. I feel that as she didn't meet David until they were both middle aged, she's entitled to have her family now...this being her second child. I just feel that despite the fact that she'll be in her 60's before the child is even at senior school.. she will have the help of family and nannies

I'm very biased because I think the 2 of them are fabulous people and I'm a huge fan...

Hopefully this baby doesn't develope any problems. They say the later the more chance of problems for the mother and child. Hopefully she stays healthy until her child graduates and gets started on their life.

I'm sure she will.. she's a clean livving lady as far a we all know... an a Multi-millionaire.. so hopefully only the best for the child..along with her already 8 year old sister..

What I love about the Mitchells.. is that they've gone back to the future, and named their children traditional names.. the elder is called Barbara , and the new baby June Violet, I think that's lovely... ... no gimmicky showbiz names... for a classy Couple..

In his new biography written by Walter Isaacson, Elon Musk has revealed that he and Grimes have had a third child and the name is as eccentric as you might expect. Their youngest child, whose existence has been kept secret until a few months ago, was revealed to be called Techno Mechanicus, or “Tau” for short, joining a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl, whom they call “Y,” and their son, X Æ A-Xii (formerly X Æ A-12), who goes by “X".

Oh I really like and respect this couple. They are just so clever and made for each other. Only Connect is way too clever for me and I love Upstart Crow.

As for me, my family was complete by age 30. I had all the energy needed then. After 50, no way could I have coped with a baby and toddler! But not everyone is the same and a couple like them will be able to afford good help.

I read that Elon Musk has masses of children. That's ok, he can certainly afford to bring them up well. I am intending to read his biography actually, he sounds an incredible man.

I did once know a woman who had her only child in her late 40's. Unfortunately he was a baby who hardly slept and was hyperactive. The lack of sleep brought her and her marriage to breaking point. It was a real pity as they had been so happy.

My paternal great grandmother had 23 children (not all survived), and she was having them up until her 50s (this was back then, when they lived on a clean island and no TV). My grandfather was one of the last children she gave birth to, so it's a miracle I am alive. More recently, I knew a woman from the island who had a baby when she was around 50. She was pregnant as the same time her daughter was pregnant, so they both were carrying at the same time.

That is incredible. I bet so many pregnancies took a huge toll on a woman's body.

you would think so...speaking as someone whose grandmother gave birth to 16 children... 3 who died in infancy... you would really think that would take a terrible physical as well as mental toll. My granny was poverty stricken al her life.. she raised the children, and scrubbed stone stairs on her hands and knees to feed them while my grandfather drank the money he earned as a Cobbler...yet I never once heard my granny complain. She didn't suffer illnesses that I knew of, ... and died age 82... a real character, everyone knew as someone who was guaranteed to entertain them with her music, and singing
