Shocking footage captured the moment an Amazon driver told a nine-year-old to 'open the f***king door'.

Doorbell camera footage showed the delivery man wearing a high-vis jacket leaving a black van and then walking up to the door while talking on the phone.

When asked who it was by the young boy, the driver is heard shouting: 'Amazon mate. Just open the f***ing door.'

Father Peter, who declined to give his surname, said his son Oscar answered the door on October 25.

He said: 'It was in the early evening as it had just gone dark.He came back in and said the Amazon guy just swore at me.

On the way out of his van he was having a chat on his phone.. not a business chat..and this happens here too. It annoys the heck out of me when the driver is walking up my path and he's chatting loudly on his phone to his mate or his mrs.. and paying little attention to his job. However thus far I've not heard anyone swear.. there would be ructions if I did

The link also showed a story of a man trying to steal a baby in a crosswalk and a mother telling of a clown trying to steal her baby!!!! What a world, what a world. 😔

HUH?...Can't understand that HL...I've just clicked on the link again and it's still the same amazon story...

I liked this comment in the article: ... The guy seems to be casually swearing rather than aggressively swearing ...."

I wonder how long it will be for the f word to just become regular speech and some new word to fill its place.

Unfortunately in many places in the UK every second word seems to be the F word...

Why is a young child answering the door? I put the responsibility on the parents or adults in the home. Am I missing something here?

I can't see how a delivery driver swearing at a child has to do with the parents .. for all that driver knew in the dark and behind a door that 9 year old could have been a grown female.. he had no right swearing at a customer...regardless of who opened the door..

I'm guessing the 9 year old had heard the F word before. At 9, which would have been mid 1950s for me, I probably had not heard it or would have known what it meant.

How old were you when the F word entered you vocabulary?

Never have seen an Amazon Driver
What does their uniform look like?

It has never become part of my vocabulary....
I taught my kids that people who swear in public are not very smart because they cannot convey their thought with actual meaningful words. They have a limited vocabulary.

Maybe I should have asked when you first heard and learned the meaning of the word. I am aware that not everyone uses it.

As for your other claim, here's what I read recently.

Why Swearing

First I look at the source and determine if they have any validity in my view. In this case, Tim, psychology professor emeritus at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
After reading his 'opinions', I still don't believe this is a trait of 'smarter' people.
And I'm sorry if it offends folks, but a Liberal Arts college, in Massachusetts, of all places, doesn't hold alot of credibility in my book.
To me, any vulgarity is the sign of a weak mind, incapable of having a good grasp of the english language.

Fair enough. And I do the same, and the opinion of a random poster on SF doesn't hold a lot of credibility in my book. I'll go with the Professor.

And here's a link to an article by Cleveland Clinic. Maybe you've heard of them...
Cleveland Clinic

No need to discuss further.

Ahhhh, a little digging found that the Cleavland Clinic got their research from "49 participants (34 women) were recruited from introductory psychology courses at a small liberal arts college and compensated with research participation credit. Their ages ranged from 18 to 22 years"
Ring a bell????
Its the same study, just reworded AND it was 18-22 year old children. No one participated that had any real wisdom. But, anyone can believe what they want.

No need to discuss further? Wow, if that isn't a closed minded statement....good luck with that
