Postal service new rules for change of address.

Sure,
The old policy required dwellers to submit a "change of address" form to the nearest post office or submit it online,

The new policy has the same initial steps as before — but now it requires homeowners to confirm their address change via a QR code sent to their email."You must then take your ID or driver's license with that QR code and take it to the post office in-person,"

The reason behind this change in policy is to steer clear of fraud.

Doing more to combat fraud is a good thing but I hope their new system works better than the old. I've heard a few complaints about people who changed their addresses and their mail still went to the old address.

They appear to have been required to offer voter registration change along with it. They've also been encouraged to self-finance via advertising, product coupons, and other weird crap.

I would print it out from my computer w/the link from my email.
Do you have a printer?
I get in my email and I take my iphone (which has my email in it) and I click on it and show it to them at the office. I've had to do this very thing when returning Amazon items to Kohl's.

I moved to another address and changed my address at the postal office. I had to redo it, and the lady said I had to be sure to make sure every one of the people I get mail from have my same name, or initials. That is not so. Some companies vary that without you telling them and I told her so. I did it over again but did not let every one of my creditors know how I wanted my name on the mail, and it went through just fine.

I'm glad that works for you. :)
With my Trac Fone, I just use it for texting and calling, no internet connection.
I'm still stuck in the 90s , as far as techy stuff. lol

I don't remember the details, but I did see this in general news, a few days ago.
Good Idea, to post it, here, to spread the info.

I got the gist of it, was that you need to prove your identity, that is, that you are the person.
I think there are multiple ways to do so.

The purpose being so that others cannot move your mail, to a different address.

It is yet Another nuisance thing to have to do, when moving, but very understandably needed.

It does work for me, but I do run into big trouble sometimes. I stick my bank card in to pay at Wal Mart and got scammed out of alot of money, had to get a new card and do the "tap to pay". Plus, I got some of my money back and had to pay back the other lot of money!!!!!!! Some people don't take cash.
