Aging homeless in America

What's childish is asking -

"You're not trying to point score over homeless percentages, are you?"

Very defensive. Let's not make it about you or me, and just stay on topic. I'm sure everyone would prefer it.

Homelessness is a global problem. As is the immigration issue. It seems that some would like to pretend otherwise. We'd be much better off looking at the causes of the issue, than being petty about it. In the UK we just had a politician call homelessness a "lifestyle choice". Which is perhaps the most ignorant and embarrassing thing anyone could say. What surprises me is that people have such a strong opinion about something they've clearly spent zero time thinking about with any attention to detail. If people weren't sleeping on the pavement, it would be funny, but sadly, it's just tragic.

I'm not sure of the relevance? You're not trying to point score over homeless percentages, are you?
lol - your reply is an admission that I am correct. Relevance? You keep yammering about what we should do in here in the States, while the problem is worse in the UK. Maybe you should focus on you own back yard. :)

ETA - and yes, for some (maybe many) homeless, it is a lifestyle choice. I've talked to several who bragged about it...

Not at all. It's just that you've somehow managed to get to a great age without a lick of common sense. But that's okay, you do you. The topic isn't which is the best or worst country to be homeless in. Nor was it comparing homelessness in one country as compared to another. You've attempted to make it this to point score. Which indicates to me that this topic bothers you quite a bit. So much so that you'd rather attempt to derail it than let people have an opinion that doesn't match your own. There's a lesson for you there that it would be a shame to miss.
