At Your Age What Do You Live For?

I tend to be quite self-contained and enjoy my two daughters, my precious books, TV and computer games! No more long-range goals, except to stay alive for another day and hope to enjoy it as much as the present one.

Part of my contentment stems from the fact that I now try to steer clear of the news, since I was shocked daily about the cruelty mankind is capable of, which caused frustration and a feeling of helplessness since I couldn't do a thing about it! Coward that I am I haven't looked in on Ukraine or the Middle East for over a week.

It seems my purpose in life is to make people laugh, be a strong support system for family and friends and give love. I've been told many times, even by people I just encountered, that I brightened their day(s). I also provide the world (or at least those who care to listen) with what a fan coined "Soul soothing music". Now, like you, I have a fur baby to care for and she has serious separation anxiety where I'm concerned, so I'm certainly living for her.

But I'm also living for myself. I feel at this age it's time to fully enjoy life in any way I choose. I enjoy music, art, immersing myself in my favorite programs, traveling, being amongst nature, especially being waterfront, so I go to those locations whenever I can.

As strange as this may sound, I live for the friends and family that have passed in my lifetime. Some of those lives were cut short and as I get older I have learned to appreciate how precious life is and feel it is almost a duty to do my best to keep going in honor of those who have passed.
I live to see wealthy, privileged, self-absorbed people accidentally break their cell phones…

Successful people don't care if they break their cell phone.....they just get their assistant to buy a new one, no big deal

I wish I could find a quote on here. I think @Knight said it.
Something about living the second half of your life?
Anyway, I live for the chance to live the rest of my life the way I wish I'd lived the first part.
I love that, @hearlady!
Maybe instead of spending so many nights regretting things I did in the past, I can try to be grateful that I've been given the chance to do better.

Quilting….. 😂 just kidding.
However, a hobby that you LOVE can motivate you to get out of bed some days. 😊

On a more serious note -

Each day brings hope to become a better version of myself.

Past mistakes and heartaches are lessons that has helped me evolve and grow emotionally and spiritually.

It has taking me many years to understand this.

As the saying goes:

Trials of this life can make you a “better” person or a “bitter” person.

I wake up and try to be a better person than yesterday.

(Of course, some days it’s more difficult to do that than others) 😊

My inspiration:

2 Corinthians 4:15-16

..as God’s kindness  overflows in the lives of many people, it will produce even more thanksgiving to the glory of God.
That is why we are not discouraged. Though outwardly we are wearing out, inwardly we are renewed day by day.

At Your Age What Do You Live For? Honestly, I am waiting for the next step of life. It will be an adventure into what will come next. I wonder if the human spirit, if there is such a thing, will grow and mature into spiritual adults? What will the terrible-two's be like as we grow into ghostly teenagers and beyond? I am waiting on that midnight train to Georgia or perhaps the Dark Side of the Moon, who knows? One thing for certain is when I die

I find this is a recurring question that I think about. I now live to care for my BFf Suzy Dog. Once she is gone though she I may find little to nothing to live for.

What do you live for?
Interesting question. I live for my husband who needs me, our lovely dog, small basic pleasures, reading, good food. Life does have good things to offer.
