At Your Age What Do You Live For?

I'm glad I won't see a lot of what will happen as the planet is ruined and wars never cease.
You just don't understand. Wars keep the human population under control so they won't ruin the planet. It all has its purpose. Feel better, now?

At Your Age What Do You Live For? Honestly, I am waiting for the next step of life. It will be an adventure into what will come next. I wonder if the human spirit, if there is such a thing, will grow and mature into spiritual adults? What will the terrible-two's be like as we grow into ghostly teenagers and beyond? I am waiting on that midnight train to Georgia or perhaps the Dark Side of the Moon, who knows? One thing for certain is when I die

:) "Only my dyin' will tell." Yeah, I'm not anxious for that though, because 'next step' would require our memory of this step, not promising I'm afraid. But maybe we're infinite in the sense that our elements are eternal. Eternalish? If true, that's good, I can live or die with that, not much choice..

Maybe your opinion is wrong. If your opinion is fact based when is it theirs or your time to die? Prove your assertion. Don't give me any religious or moral stuff. Prove when it is the 'right' time to die.
Nothing can ever be proved conclusively --there an element of risk in every assertion including yours, and including 2+2=4 (due to possible error).
(It was not their time to die.) Globally, life expectancy has increased by more than 6 years between 2000 and 2019 – from 66.8 yrs in 2000 to 73.4 years in 2019. While healthy life expectancy (HALE) has also increased by 8% from 58.3 in 2000 to 63.7, in 2019, this was due to declining mortality rather than reduced years lived with disability. --Life tables - World Health Organization

Life expectancy is simply the statistical average. There will be many who die younger and older than that. So a statistical 'average' proves nothing with respect to the right time to die. I asked you to prove what is the 'right time to die' for everyone. You have not done that.

You took my song!

For my familiy and for myself. For life to be. In short, I live for life to be. Life is good.

But speicific things (besides family), I live to write my unending soap opera which is unending because I can't seem to stop adding to it and, well, I'm a research geek so it kind of seems to go to places I have to research. It's a family saga that starts in the 1800's America but there are some immigrants involved. Currently, been researching Mexico's history and the history of immigration to the US from everywhere (there's also an Italian immigrant that marries into the family) getting into the Mexican immigrant who becomes one woman's permanent Latin lover and, man, that's been an eyeful. Research is fun because learning is fun.

Interesting facts I've learned:

1. Mexico taught us how to ranch and were doing it 400 years before Americans who get all the danged cowboy glory. We only did the famed cattle drives for about 100 years, little less actually. I had already made him a vaquero when I researched that and found that out. Thank you for beef, Mexico!

2. President Porfirio Diaz was an SOB. Maybe not the worst they've seen but he still was. Yikes. If anyone ever wants to know why term limits are important, look into this POS dictator who called himself President. Wow, how he impoverished the country to enrich the city.

Prove? I just told you. I can't prove anything, and neither can you. I can only report probabilities, opinions. My opinion is that war is not good, that it causes creatures to suffer and die before their time, that war is a scourge upon the earth, and Albert Schweitzer and others have said so too. There are kinder ways of reducing population than war. I sincerely hope others as cavalier as you will soon be removed from positions of leadership.

War is a failure of civilization. There's nothing good about it. So I agree with you. It's sad that war is romanticized by Hollywood.
