New Towel Skirt fashion for men...

That's even more hideous than man buns.

Call me old fashioned but I want my man looking like a man. I'm not attracted to women and I'm going to pass on any "man" resembling a woman. Yes, I know this terribly politically incorrect of me. How dare I have the nerve to like what I like.

But, putting aside I ain't giving any man in a skirt the time of day (and doubting he really cares since he ain't exctly dressed to attract the opposite gender) this is just gross even for women. It's like some lazyi slob just decided to tie a dirty, ragged towel around their waist instead of getting dressed today. Ffs, at least pull on some sweats. (Yes, I know they have pants on - for now.)
But ... but, I like kilts! Could you accept me in one of those? Not now, but twenty years ago? :D

I agree, except for the only man that looks good in a skirt is one in a kilt! Sometimes they look downright sexy!

C'mon Laddos... fess up how many of you are gonna be wearing this , this year..?

Fashion is art, and art is subjective. But the towel skirt from the spring/summer 2024 collection of the Spanish fashion house Balenciaga takes the luxury biscuit: a unisex, terry cotton, beige towel skirt – literally a towel with belt, buttons and an embroidered logo.

It is now available for pre-order for £695 and, by the way, it’s dry clean only.

I pay a visit to John Lewis in Oxford Street, London, to see if I can turn a £15 ultra soft cotton caramel bath towel into a designer towel skirt just by wrapping it around my waist.

Is the towel skirt really the latest fashion trend?

The £695 version

lol..never mind the towel...look at those horrendous shoes....:ROFLMAO:
between this and the man bun and their man purses lol!

c'mon..911 you know how well this skirt towel will go with your military shirt ...:sneaky::ROFLMAO:
My military shirt or my state police shirt? I will tell you it wouldn’t coordinate. I used to get my police shirts done at the dry cleaners and had them put a military crease on the back and on my he front pockets. I thought for sure that would catch on and a lot of guys would do the same, but no one did. I think it was the price that kept them from doing it.

I stopped doing it after a few years, even though my dry cleaner thought I was making a mistake. I only had it done to the summer shirts. You can’t see the military crease with a coat on, but in the summer, it really looked sharp.

very smart indeed, I somehow imagined you would be...:)

In the late sixties fashion became a bye word, most young people just had to have the latest trend and for a few short weeks a skirt for men was the thing to have, (not for me though,) especially if you were a celebrity and wanted to keep your face in the press. Here's David Bowie and Mick Jagger.

Mercifully, the men's skirt was history within a few weeks.

Well, ahem, we know that both Mick Jagger and David Bowie were ac/dc, right?

I live in Pennsylvania where the temperatures are changing (although it was 64* yesterday) and winter is heading our way. The mornings are cool and then it warms up during the day.

I'm telling you this so you can understand how people are starting to dress. Mornings are for jackets now. I have a 17 year old neighbor boy that waits for the bus to pick him up in front of his house. On the cool mornings, he's been wearing a blanket. He says it's the "fashion" for high school kids. WHAT??? His great grandmother lives next door to him and I thought she was going to have a stroke when she saw him. She immediately bought him a winter jacket and said if she ever saw him wearing a blanket again, she'd kick his butt. She's a hoot :)

So far...I haven't seen him wear a towel, though. I'll keep you posted.

Oh I'm British I've seen all the pictures there are of our British Rock stars of old.. but never seen one of Bowie and Jagger actually being intimate... ...have heard stories but never seen pictures of more than hugs as in those pics above
There was also Angie Bowie saying she'd caught them in bed together (she's cleaned that up now). We heard that decades ago from someone she told that to. I don't know that there are pictures of them "doing" anything; I haven't seen them.

Funny you mention the blanket...in the last few weeks I've seen some highschool age kids wrapped in blankets at the store, I didn't realize it was a thing.

If blankets are a stylish thing kids are wearing, what happens when these boys decide to wear the towel with no jeans underneath? Guaranteed some will. Hopefully they will get sent home from school but what if they don’t?
I have no kids or grandkids to worry about
