What are you doing today 2023

I'm sitting here in central New York in front of my computer, while drinking a mug of Twinings Earl Grey tea. When I drink Earl Grey, I usually prefer Twinings. Maybe it's because of my British ancestors. When I used to drink beer, I preferred German beer. Yes, I also have German ancestors also. As I look at the tag and string hanging from my mug, one side says' "Over 300 years of Experience", and "established 1706".
The other side says: Twinings Drink in Life". I've been drinking Twinings about as long as I have watched British programs on television, over 50 years. What would life have been without having the British making tea and making me laugh? Yes, I do drink a lot of American tea, and Celestial Seasonings herbal tea, and I do watch American television. But life has been a lot more enjoyable just having the British around.

I survived dinner. DGS says we need to go to more upscale places for birthdays. He wants us to develop more sophisticated palates:ROFLMAO:

A day off. What'll I do today? For sure gonna stay away from @Trila 's because that squirrel can't be trusted and probably doesn't have a permit...

Wouldn't life be boring without the variety of other cultures?!!!!

Waiting for my periodic doctor's appointment. It's a strange one because it's going to be all by phone. My doctor has the shingles! It was the same during Covid but this feels weird because we had gone back to personal contact in the meantime! Well, it may feel weird but it'll be weird in a good way ... I love it. No long drive, no waiting ... not a chance of intimate probing! I'll tell him "I feel great" he'll reply (hopefully) "That's good, do you need any refills?" And that'll be it!

Happy Monday, friends! Since I still have a head cold and toddler GS isn't quite over whatever he's had, plus his day (my DS) is sick enough that he needs to work from home today, we've decided to not share germs today. Therefore no babysitting today. Will continue making and freezing cookie doughs for baking next week and beyond.

After an early grocery run, I'll be making rugelach dough and also a big batch of marzipan for pignoli cookies.

I rather enjoy my in-person annual physical. My doc has a very pleasing personality, is thorough and knowledgeable. Plus he has the good manners to be slightly pudgy so he understands giving into temptation now and then, and is about 40 years old, so starting to experience early challenges of aging.

Women get a lot more intimate probing during their lifetimes, but at my last pap/intenal exam GYN told me unless I had pain, discharge or other symptoms, I was done with those tests. That was six years ago and I don't miss them a bit!

Not off the hook with mammograms or colonoscopies though. The latter because of family history.

The area above my bathtub insert/shell/? is painted and I've noticed mildew/mold developing in patches from the frequent moisture, so I decided I would tackle that today. Got up on a Rubbermaid step stool (all one piece) in the tub but it didn't feel very secure. Put that rubbery/nobby shelf liner stuff under the feet. Improvement, but still I felt insecure... hand towel placed on the top step. Better but my better judgement said, "This Is Probably Not Your Most Brilliant Idea" Completed and will let someone else handle it next time. Don't need a fall in the tub.

Made corn bread and stewed some apple slices (the apple was meh raw) with cinnamon, then drizzled with melted butter and just a teensy bit of maple syrup. That should make a nice dessert.

Picking up last min. groceries for our family gathering tomorrow. Trip to the library for books.

Y'all have a great day!

Sorry - I just saw this post. Just left click on the chart, then right click it, then go down to Save Image As, and choose where to put it. I keep it on my desktop.

I feel so stupid at the moment. I always knew those things and am starting to forget more and more how to go about tasks that were automatic to me only a few years ago. Very upsetting when your mind is still aware of all those unpleasant changes!
Thanks again, StarSong!

DID SOME REMINESCING ONLINE!

These are two items that I miss the most... Which I feel we should be able to buy online from my Amazon 😊

Be able to actually buy a 4 Gallons Can of real Maple Syrup...

Second item... Spruce Beer Soda, which was available under PC brand aka President's Choice at grocery retailer called Loblaws.

Granted I can get a 250mL bottle of maple syrup from all my locals here, but missing the site of a huge can... 🙃

The Santa Ana Winds are blowing so hard that we couldn't complete our usual one-hour walk this morning. The winds sand-blasted us, tree branches are down, the dogs are excited, the driveway is scattered with wind-blown debris, and the windmill is spinning like crazy. Still pictures just can't do justice to these wind storms, but I don't know how to upload video clips. The Santa Ana Winds, mostly in November, have caused the worst wild fires in Southern California, with hundreds of houses burnt.

"It’s time to walk the dog (and yourself) for better fitness" https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/18/health/working-out-with-your-dog-wellness/index.html Well, I am walking every day with my 3 Boxer dogs.

@CinnamonSugar: in the 1970's, it was rare to see the mountains in summer; now it's rare not see them. The smog has drastically been reduced.
