Why I Don't Go To The Senior Center

No idea..unfortunately there's none around here... but I always presumed they looked like this, which is why I've kept clear of them anyway...

i think the senior centers are more geared for those that are older and can't get out as much and just need the company and something to do. ours has speakers that come in and various other entertainments as well as bingo i think. plus a noon meal. they come to socialize on the daily with others their age. these places aren't for everyone. just depends on a persons needs.

None around here either. Unfortunately, the "wild, wild West" with its lack of any entertainment other than bars and churches still lives on in too many places here in the U.S.
I've noticed your Location as Porlock, Calif. I live in California and had not heard of Porlock, so I googled it. Turns out- you're much closer to Somerset, England than any place around here. :D

Finally, somebody guessed! I thought one of the U.K, members here might catch it, but you're the first. (I actually am in Calif. but seem to be the anti-muse so that's why I chose Porlock...and maybe why creative people don't seem to like me.)

I haven't visited the senior center although I might go just to see it when the new one is finished. I have looked at their offerings online and there are classes, dance, art, day trips, etc. I thought some of the classes and trips might be interesting but I don't really have time for it.

IMO 50s and 60s are much too young to be retired. I realized pretty quickly after my early retirement that I could sit around and be bored, volunteer or work again and put some money away for retirement. We had planned to travel but that was not to be because of hubby's health. So, I worked for 20 more years and recently retired again with some financial padding.

Let the senior center take care of itself.

That's funny.
