What have you bought recently?

Today Amazon should be delivering a new candy thermometer (that I hope to not break), some black tahini for a new kind of cookie that I want to give a try🤞, and some edible wafer paper because this year I'm going to take a stab at making torrone. Again:🤞

I'll report back.

My new Eddie Bauer coat arrived today. Maybe I should have bought a PS rather than a PM. I wanted room for the heavier clothes that I wear underneath. That’s the trouble with buying online. It’s burnt orange, so the colour I wanted. It feels so light. I’ll try it out this afternoon and decide which kind of weather I can wear in it.

Oh! Tahini is used in hummus, it's wonderful stuff! You can use it in salad dressing or with grains. Great with raw vegetables, cauliflower and wonderous with noodles and the like!

Torrone is, I believe, Italian nougart and I can imagine it's great with tahini although, too sweet for me.

Sorry, to jump in here but, you mentioned tahini

is that nougart with an R? :sneaky::D

Today, I nearly bought a blue, arran type jumper and then I visualised all the jumpers I already have and reminded myself that I don't often wear chunky jumpers. So, I put it back on the rail and left the shop feeling very pleased with my sensible approach whilst making a note of how much money I had just saved and then, I squandered £7.99 on a stand for my Chromebook because, let's face it, no one wants to be too sensible ;)

Never heard of black tahini.....google here I come.

I bought 5 bags (300 gm) of Tim Horton’s coffee for free - used points to get them. In theory, based on the store price, I saved $50. My coffee cupboard was almost bare. I don’t even like Timmie’s coffee very much. Free makes it taste better. (They darn well better not have Starbuck’s on special next week.)

Tahini is ground sesame seeds and is the main ingredient in halvah candy. Don't know if you've ever had it, but if so, you'll have a good idea of what tahini tastes like.

Torrone is indeed an Italian nougat candy, but the black tahini is not for that. I only mentioned them in the same post because the specialized items for both the torrone candy (candy thermometer and wafer paper) and the tahini cookies were ordered on the same day from Amazon.

Black tahini is made from black sesame seeds.

I love tahini - I use it a lot in hummus and salad dressings :)
