How many watches do you own ?

You would have to ask!
I had 18, then sat my kids down and divided them between the three. Promised I was done with watches, then noticed there were more on my dresser. Do they multiply? Did I buy more?:)
Now I have another 5.
I seriously stopped buying watches once I added up the cost of the five I still have (12,000). I have to stop!

I have 2. One is silver and gold and the other is black plastic. The first one needs a battery so I got tired of getting batteries all the time and don't wear it any more. I don't know where the second one is but don't like it much either. So I don't wear a watch anymore. I have been thinking of getting a new one, though, but then think back to those batteries always needing replacing.

I buy watches because I love the craftsmanship and the back stories of the brand, where they are made, the experience of the watchmakers, etc.

Actually most rolexs are the poor man's watch as far as high end.
Most are much to flashy and are fakes much of the time.
Although, I am still looking for this one!

More than I need. The one I used most when I was working was a cheap Timex Expedition. Great watch. I also have a diver watch that was a graduation gift from the 1970’s. I looked it up the other day on several watch forums. I was stunned! It is a rare limited edition that was only made for a couple years. It would certainly be waaaay too expensive for me to buy now. I put it in the safe.

True. As seniors if we don't use it we'll lose it. I'm sure you can build yourself up again should you wish too since there is really nothing organically wrong with you. What ever you decide, I wish you all the best. I'll help if you ever feel you'd need or benefit from that. :giggle:

Now you're talking watches! I love the Rolex. I've never owned one but my dad always wore one on special occasions and it looked great on him. He loved that darned watch so. :love:
 
3 which the batteries still work. My everyday one is in need of a new wrist band.

I'm keeping an eye out for the watch person which usually comes to our mall later on this month. They usually have the nicest watches just in time for the holidays.

It's time to replace the old ones with new ones...?
 
I had quit wearing watches; but then I got an Apple Watch, and because it helps me keep track of my health, I wear it all the time for that reason alone. Now that i am used to wearing a watch again, I would miss it if I didn’t wear it every day.
 
I have 4. One gold, one silver, one with leather band and the old Timex my grandmother gave me for my tenth birthday. It still runs and has never even been cleaned. It is 62 years old now.
 
I have 2, both from DH, one is a pretty turquoise band, now too small for me. The other is really beautiful, and no one believes he got it at Walmart. It does look expensive.
 
My latest has been a Seiko Solar Watch....no more batteries!

Well, there's always the bladder cancer business, so it makes no sense trying to build myself back up. But before anyone starts feeling sorry for me, I feel great and am enjoying each day I have been given! Between my wonderful family, my books, TV and this group I am living a good life!

Now that one looks more like it! But there are cheaper ones that look just as good. I hate all those extra little dials within the dial! If you are interested in watchmakers look up the brand name "Hanhart." If they still exist. I was an apprentice there in the fifties!
 
I have a couple of watches but I gave up wearing them after I retired. I always have my iPhone with me and the time is more easy to read than the face of a watch.
 
Three inexpensive Timex Expeditions.....cheap but they keep good time, they"re reliably rugged and that's the only relevant criteria I care about.
