December 2nd I will be 4 months off of cigarettes.

I was having shortness of breath there for a few weeks...googled it...and found out this can be normal after smoking cessation. Also, I found my sense of humour is bouncing a back a little bit. I've just felt flat and boring these last few months.

So it's a win/ win going on these days I'm happy to report! :)

Good job. I quit 45 years ago after being hospitalized in tubes for three weeks. Not having smoked for that long was a blessing and I never picked one up again.

I am about 2 1/2 years into my new life without cigarettes. I still want one everyday but know if I light one I will never be able to stop. That thought alone keeps me going.

Something you may not have thought about. Calculate the amount of money you would spend daily for cigarettes. Put that money away. In 6 months see if you have enough to take a vacation or buy something you wanted but thought was to expensive to buy.

It won't be easy to part with that money when it isn't used for cigaretts. It's worth watching what you used to blow up in smoke to see how fast that can accumulate.

Of course I don't know your financial situation. But if you put that away then when your daughter does get married think of what being able to give her as a wedding present you will be able to do that might not have been possible.

I had a cheap connection for smokes before I quit. But I still figure I was paying around $2500.00 a year on butts...about $100.00 every two weeks.

Good for you Beezer. I did something incredibly stupid a week or so ago. I bought a pack of cigarettes after not smoking for a long time..........something was bothering me so I dumbly thought a smoke would make me feel better. After smoking 4 one day and 4 the next I threw out the 12 left. My mouth, lips, forgot how to purse to inhale. Instead of forcing myself to re-learn I felt guilty and put the rest in the toilet and flushed.

It cost $12.48 cents cause I paid by credit card. DUHHHHHHHH

Great work @Beezer ! I found it was the short fuse/bad temper that was the last quit symptom to leave when I quit. You're on your way to a smoke free life. Keep up the good work!

One of the smartest decisions you could have ever made. You very well may have saved your own life. Getting over addiction is never easy, and takes courage and determination, but your body will thank you in spades for not trying to kill it anymore. Kudos to you Beezer.

Don't understand what the big deal is.... Quitting is the easiest think in the world to do....
I use to quit 40 times a day......

But seriously congratulations, I quit about 15 years ago. DW has finally quit a few months.
