Do you have anything passed down to you from your ancestors?

Nothing much from my parents. Just small stuff that's not worth anything monetarily. When I die, my step-kids can do what they want with everything. I gave some things to my son years ago.

You might be too harsh on yourself. You seem coherent to me. Hair is over-rated, I haven't had any for 22 years. My barber probably thinks I died. :)
My grandmother wasn’t the least bit social. She was a proud loner.

The hair comment is a compliment to her. She had thick, coarse , silver grey wavy hair. My dad had thick coarse wavy curly hair.

My brother had thick coarse hair too. While my grandmother was British she looked like she was part native Indian and oddly enough she did my dad and my brother .

From my maternal grandmother, a beautiful locket with pictures of her and my grandfather inside it, and my grandmother's serving dishes. Also received my grandfather's woodworking tools and pocket watch.

From my father - rifles, guns and tools, his fancy western belt buckles, cowboy hats and his diamond horse head-horse shoe ring. From my mother - diamond, ruby and sapphire cocktail rings, an antique lapel watch, plus pots & pans and old photo albums from when she was 20ish with pictures of people in them that I have no idea who they are.

From my great grandmother, a few plates and fruit nappies. I think the plates are pretty, so they're on display in the buffet. From my grandmother, a lovely old settee, a rocking chair and a couple of small things. From my mother, some silverware and dishes.

Brass bed, cigar box and hand made walking cane from great grandfather passed down to me by his son, my grandfather. A few small jewelry items that I still use and enjoy. Everything else I have already passed along to my own children.

I have a few things of sentimental value from my parents. Today's generation is into minimalist non-material things, that unless it is monetary, cannot be bothered.
So true.
I had some fine china Of my Mother's that I had asked both my niece and nephew if they would like to have it.
They asked me to send pics, which I did. Nothing...no reply back.

I've learned that no answer is an answer these days.

After my paternal grandma died many years ago, dad and his brother sold her house and possessions... but I've the most wonderful memories of my beloved grandma. I loved that woman to bits - my memories of her are worth far more than anything else. She brings a smile to my face just typing this. 😊

I've loads of china stuff from my maternal gran and also inherited her silver.
However - I've moved around a lot and on one occasion I was so pissed off with this container of her silver, I threw it in the local skip. I must've been mad, but I wasn't a fan of her anyway.

As an aside, I often think the amount of money I've spent on fees and such like with all my house moves and stuff I've thrown away, I could've been a millionaire 3 times over by now. 🙃

I treasure the mezuzah on the outside of my front door. My grandma bought it for us in 1953. I also treasure her set of Torah, Prophets & Writings. I love she signed her name at the beginning of each book, which of course begins where we in English would end, back to front is their front to back.

My mother wore a pendant every day which my father bought for her at the gem store near my home when I had a home in Woodstock, NY. I wear it on occasions I think she would enjoy being at. I "take her with me" so to speak. I would love to wear her peridot ring, although I'm not a ring wearer, but it is hopelessly stained and can't be professionally cleaned, I tried.
