What board games do you play?

I just found a board game called Quoridor, which is a two or four player intuitive strategy game.
Quiridor received the Mensa Mind Game award in 1997 and the game of the year in the United States, France, Canada and Belgium.

Game play is quick, but always challenging.

Quoridor, what's the objective? How do you win?

My favorite board game is Scrabble. Like @hollydolly, I kind of hate Monopoly...maybe because my older brother took it too seriously. He was a diabolical Monopoly player. I'm surprised he didn't grow up to be a real estate mogul.

I also like Trivial Pursuit. Me & my kids played it almost every week. Wednesday was family game night. They carried on that Wednesday tradition with their own kids, and my sons still collect board games.

I haven't played board games in years, but when I did I loved playing "Risk".

From Wikipedia:

"Risk is a strategy board game of diplomacy, conflict and conquest for two to six players. The standard version is played on a board depicting a political map of the world, divided into 42 territories, which are grouped into six continents. Turns rotate among players who control armies of playing pieces with which they attempt to capture territories from other players, with results determined by dice rolls. Players may form and dissolve alliances during the course of the game. The goal of the game is to occupy every territory on the board and, in doing so, eliminate the other players. The game can be lengthy, requiring several hours to multiple days to finish."

This strategy game is filled with betrayal, alliances, and surprise attacks. It was fun trying to take over the world!

My brother never lost at Monopoly. As a career he was always in management.

Scrabble is good but only if people play fairly and don't do 2 letter "words" like they do online.

I play a lot of Scrabble. What's wrong with 2 letter words?

It just adds to the fun the more words you learn.
