Well, perhaps I've wondered what could happen if you did this, but now I know I'll never do it. :D

Talk about self-inflicted injury. Imagine losing your life to a sneeze (it can happen, apparently).

Doctors have issued a warning after a man tore a hole in his throat while trying to stop a sneeze.
The patient in his 30s was taken to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, in severe pain after he pinched his nose and closed his mouth to stifle the sneeze.
Scans revealed he had suffered a 2mm tear in his windpipe.

Whoa! Well now there's a new one! I do know that holding a sneeze can damage blood vessels in ears, nose, etc. and can damage an eardrum pretty severely... but never heard this one. I *do* remember hearing when I was very young that a sneeze shouldn't be held back because it could affect the heart but I never understood what that connection would be. Still don't!

This is me. 3 or 4 times in a row. 🤧
Sneezing 3 times in a row means that good luck is coming your way. Even if you feel like you've had a string of bad luck, sneezing 3 times can be a sign that you're ready to leave those problems from your past behind and move forward in your journey of self-discovery toward bigger and better things.

Sneezes differ, too...a sneeze from allergies feels different than a sneeze from a cold, and in my opinion they can be more painful.

That is scary.
I've never understood those who stifle a sneeze. I just let it out but cover my mouth.
I must say I find people who sneeze very loudly and several times in a row very irritating! It sounds kind of deliberate.
