My take on a Surface Go 3 tablet.

This is a rant. before I got my iPhone, I only had a desk top computer. I figured if it died, I'd be up a creek. So I got a Surface Go 3 tablet, as a back up. OMG! What a piece of....... Its favorite operation is "Microsoft Edge not responding". Otherwise, Edge gets bogged down reporting how Dealdash.com stock is doing- something I just can't live without knowing. I'm not that computer literate, oops "Microsoft Edge not responding", Wendy's stock is up $1.10.
This tablet is the most worthless piece of electronics, since I bought a brand new 4 track cassette player.

Thanks for warning me and putting it in perspective at the outset. High tech is only high because it is high priced. I still have a clamshell mobile phone and it still does what it is supposed to very cheaply. If everyone was like me, Apple would have been out of business long ago. Tech only survives because it creates a 'need' for itself.

Any device that has "Microsoft" in it's name or as the operating system is bound to disappoint. If you can return it you'll be happier.
Sorry to @fuzzybuddy for his experience.

As to your anti-Microsoft stance, we've had a number of computers over the years with Microsoft operating systems. All of them have been fine (except for the Windows 95 ones, way back when, but that was a long time ago — coming up on 30 years ago).

(And {sigh}, yes, I know about Linux operating systems, having tried one many years ago. Not interested. If you're into them, good for you. Just not necessarily the answer for everyone else.)

I don't know anything about the Surface Go or Windows 11, but I wonder if you have an internet connection problem. I'm guessing the Surface Go connects through WiFi to your router. Does your desktop connect the same way or is it hard wired? Are you close to the router? Maybe it's a setup problem. If all the Surface Go's acted like yours I think there would be a major fuss over it.

You could try installing a different browser.

Oh for sure, and notice that I don't try to recruit unsuspecting souls...

Microsoft is a Piece of Garbage ... I would never have it again from choice... my daughter has , like me , Apple products at home, but she has to use Microsoft at work, and she said there's rarely a day goes by when she goes into work and there's not a problem...
Many people run into that hindrance, as M$ dominates the workplace environment in most countries. I like Apple products bu don't care for their "mother hen" approach with the Apple ID, Apple store, iTunes, iCloud and such.

As I mentioned, Apple is just trying to create a 'need' for itself. In the business world it is called 'marketing itself'. You need Apple because Apple wants it that way. Look at it this way - if you did not have a 'need' for Apple you would not be spending your money on it. How does it feel now that you know you are just being 'led around by the nose'? Disappointing isn't it to learn that your 'enjoyment' of tech isn't really your idea? Linux is an alternative. But, if neither Microsoft nor Apple created the need would you need an alternative?

Another gripe about this Surface Go 3. To recharge it, there is this cylinder that magnetically attaches to the tablet- Great. It has a tiny blue light, which tells you it's charging. But you have to wonder with all the improve microcircuitry, and wireless features, somebody would have figured out how to turn off the light when the thing was finished charging? NOPE.
