What Type of Tea Are You Drinking Right Now

Ginger, unfortunately, doesn’t do anything for sleep and camomile will be in most sleep assisting teas.
Lavender, mint, passion flower, hops, lemon balm, cinnamon, holy basil, ginseng and nutmeg help with sleep.

Mint is another wonderful thing to grow in your kitchen. It’s so versatile and also very healing. Many people just pinch a few fresh leaves and add boiling water. It’s also healing for the stomach but clashes with ginger.

I’m taking more time and patience to make myself healthier drink choices and with tea, the skies the limit. It’s so versatile.

Right now I’m drinking Twinings Orange and Cinnamon. I HAD cinnamon sticks at one time as well as fresh vanilla but I must have misplaced them. I added cinnamon, cloves and orange.
I meant adding ginger to mask the chamomile not replacing it. Thank you for all the other suggestions. I think I will play around with some of them. It could be fun.

Ginger and lemon should mask camomile easily. Together they are so incredibly healthy .i haven’t had a stomach ache in 5 days. Its miraculous. I’m definitely going to keep doing the smoothie thing every morning.
I hope you find a replacement. I like Sleeptyme tea myself as well as Dreamland.
Lavender is actually really nice to drink especially with a strong tasting honey. I got it as a gift one day.

I love homemade masala chai, but as it takes about 40 min to make 1-2 servings from scratch, it’s relegated to “special occasion” status.

My main go-to for caffeine is Barry’s Class Irish tea ☘️

Good flavor and no caffeine can be achieved by julienne slicing a 1.5 “ piece of peeled, fresh ginger, adding two cinnamon sticks and 2 and 3/4 cup water. Somehow the cinnamon gives enough sweetness, no sugar needed.

What are the main ingredients of a chai
Does it usually have milk or some type of milk substitute?

I like the Julienne Ginger idea and adding cinnamon sticks. I really like cinnamon.

These hot drinks are nice when cooled too, chilled for summer months.

@PeppermintPatty, the recipe I use has cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and star anise as the spice base. Black tea is steeped in this after it’s simmered, then milk is added and it simmers for another 10 min or so (another thing that has to be watched like a hawk, lol). Sweetened to taste with maple syrup. Delish

That sounds delicious. Maple syrup is really nice indeed. I have some chocolate chai but I’ve never quite gotten used to it. All of my herbal teas I don’t add milk or milk substitutes however when I have plain orange pekoe I use a bit of milk. I like make syrup or honey in it

That organic Moroccan Mint green tea sounds heavenly. I used to have 5 different types of peppermint. Drinking tea outside is practically magical

Completely agree. We're finally getting rain. Not tired of it yet but it is taking a while to remember to look ahead for days I can get outside more. I took these while walking the dog a day or two ago.

You'd like it then. It's my wife Lia's favorite except for black tea though she probably likes coffee more. Still she told the story of our first meeting at a holiday party Monday and she always mentions my having invited her out for tea instead of coffee. Who knew that line would work so well?

Oops, just realized I responded twice to your same post. Memories .. I used to get some.

Your picture taking skills are good.
You have a similar style as my own.
I like the seeded grass in front look. It gives contrast.

Thats a cute story about your wife. My husband really likes his coffee but equally loves fresh mint tea. He would go out first thing in the morning and pick fresh mint right out of the backyard and make a cup of fresh mint tea.

I like Green tea, with a dash of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey, and sometimes I throw a menthol cough drop in it, that melts with the hot tea.
I do not ever get many colds but if I feel I am getting a cold, I throw in the tea a half a packet of dry Thera Flu OTC , and it seems to help stave off colds.
I like Jasmine tea and just about all types of tea except for Red tea.
I haven't had jasmine tea in years. I'm going to get some. I really like it.
I don't like oolong or red rooibos.

Let me see... I've two occasional teas: Masala Chai (like Christmas in a cup) and Earl Grey.

Then, a supply of regular tea, PG Tips and as a backup Tetley. In the new year, we're going back to PG Tips definitely that was the winner and our backup from time to time, will be Yorkshire tea...

There was another tea thread and I was going to put PG Tips on my list. I forgot. I see it in our commissary.
Its on my list now.

I like jasmine tea also and don’t like oolong or red roolibos.

This morning I’m having stash lemon & ginger with real lemon and ginger in it.
I’m on a real lemon and ginger kick. It’s healing up my knees, stomach & sinus problems so effortlessly. This is now my daily go to morning drink and is my flavours for one daily smoothie.

I drink yerba tea at least twice a day. There's a ritual involved, so drinking yerba is my semi-meditative time.

The rest of the day (and at this moment) I drink a blend. Usually black, grey, and ginger. Sometimes I also add turmeric, or it's turmeric instead of ginger.

I cook up about a 1/2 gallon every day, and then refrigerate it. Then I can have it hot or cold.

This time of year, whenever we take a drive into the hills, I pick a bag of pine needles, cook 'em up real good when we get home, and add some of that water to my tea. With a little sprinkle of nutmeg on top, it's yummers.

Pine needles? You know a lot about holistic healing. I had to look this up. Pine needles have 5 times the vitamin c as lemon juice. OMG! 😱 That’s amazing.

Can I ask what type of pine you use. Jack Pine, white pine, red pine, scotch pine?

What's so good about pine needle tea? Pine needle tea has a pleasant taste and smell (always a good start). It is rich in vitamin C (5 times the concentration of vitamin C found in lemons) and can bring relief to conditions such as heart disease, varicose veins, skin complaints and fatigue.

I bought a combination honey and maple syrup about a week ago. I haven't tried it in tea but it is good on everything else. Maybe now is a good time.

Mostly Ponderosa, Pinyon, and White. And Pinyon nuts are delicious toasted or lightly sauteed in a little oil. That's how I use them in my rice pilaf; saute a handful or two of pine nuts with some onion and a little garlic, then I toss in a couple handfuls of orzo and stir all that until the orzo gets golden, and then all that gets stirred into the seasoned rice.

It's really good.
