Having cataract surgery in December

Yes, we've had our cataracts done as well. I don't know why they have to schedule them for the crack of dawn. Geez!

Final update, right eye done yesterday. Post surgery visit with doc. this morning. One more visit next week with his assistant who will do one last check, and determine what I will need for new eyewear. He said some of his patients can go without, or just for reading/close work. May even be able to get away with those magnifying "cheaters" that folks can buy over the counter.
I have been wearing glasses for 30 years..may be hard to get used to doing without. Just thought of something...my license says corrective lenses. So I will have to visit the DMV if I no longer need them for driving..right???

It's good to see you updating, today, Marie.
I thought of you yesterday, and this morning. Glad to hear that now, you'll be on the mend, side of this process.:)

Some people still need glasses, for some activities. I would wait and see, what you will or will not need.
Sometimes they can tell you generally, at a week, but often they wait more weeks, till you are more fully healed, before giving you an actual specific new script for glasses, if you will still have some.

Marie, I had both my eyes done a few months ago. I'm thrilled to bits with the result, my distance vision is perfect, and I just buy those cheap magnifying spectacles for reading.

I hope that you enjoy the same success as I have, it was the best thing I've done in years.

I'm almost sure that I saw two fleas getting amorous at the bottom of the garden while I was looking out of the window. 😊

Sounds great Marie, happy all went well!

Just wait, Marie, you'll be finding bits of muck and perhaps a few spiders webs that somehow were not there before. 😊

Had my final official visit to check on my right eye surgery. Both eyes officially done. No more eye guard at night when I sleep. Have to keep doing drops for a few more days,
I go back on the 30th of this month to determine what, if anything, I will need for eye wear in the future. Doc said I may just need readers...or those cheaters you can buy over the counter at the drugstore or Walmart. They are basically just glasses with magnified lenses . But most likely no more everyday glasses..like in my profile pic.
That will seem odd as I have worn glasses full time for over 25 years.
I was making the friend who came with me nuts while we were in the office waiting, and I was just looking around the room reading the signs and things on the counter without my glasses. She finally just laughed and said "Marie, read silently!!" LOL

Marie, I bought 6 pair of those cheap magnifying glasses +2 strength and I can read perfectly with them. I don't need glasses for anything else, but like you, I've worn specs for decades and I can't get out of the habit of trying to take specs off that are no longer there. I'm pleased for you that you've got you sight improved. 😊

Many people who wore glasses for years just get a pair with the bifocal for reading. They feel naked without them.
Or they used to get the granny glasses, that sit on the end of nose, and are a sliver shape, so you thru them to read, and look out the top over them, for distance.

Sound good to you Marie? 😁 :giggle:
