DEN: The Largest International Airport in the United States

Haven't been to DIA for 20 years or so - do you still go over Gun Club Road between the airport and I70?

Denver was one of our (United) main hubs. It’s over 50 miles in total area. Easy to fly in and out of because of the winds that accumulated in the Rockies. Sometimes, it could be tricky in the summer.

The guys on the ground always did a great job with clearing the taxiways and runways. They were the first to use portable deicing equipment. They would deice your plane at the gate and even give your plane a quick spray before takeoff, if necessary.

I would have guessed:
Chicago, Atlanta or Dallas was the biggest Int'l Airport in the US - never would have guessed Denver
He’s talking about the size of the area that DEN owns or sits on, not how many flights or passengers it handles in a day, week, month or year. Denver International replaced the old Stapleton Airport. There are several more airports in the U.S. that need or should be replaced.

DIA is what the locals refer to it as being called, but the proper IATA is labeled DEN.

What was your favorite city besides Honolulu to fly into? What weather patterns concern you the most? Have you ever been scared about a landing you were about to make. Maybe scared is the wrong word. Have you ever been worried about a landing you were about to make? What caused you to worry?
