This was the topic in many German newspapers some days ago. In the English news the is almost nil, only in Rebel News. Exactly for this reason I use alternative German websites to get informed what happens in the U.S.
If you think that Rebel News is right or far-right this could be true. Nevertheless it informs you on topics you won't read in your news.
German childcare facilities under fire for endorsing child sexual exploration

Here is one of the German articles. I've used the headview from the German "Bild", the equivalent of the English newspaper "The Sun".
Kerpen: Kita bot Kindern Masturbations-Raum an

The kindergarten (kita) in Kerpen belongs to the Roman Catholic German archbishopric Köln (Cologne). Nice, isn't it?

How shocking, instead they should be telling them they'll go blind if they touch themselves. :ROFLMAO:
I know this old prejudice. Perhaps some of us still was taught this. But even in my opinion (and I'm quite modern) this is not something for four or five year old children. We have quite a few cases of sexual misuse in child care facilities here.

That is disgusting. I saw this controversial news in Fox News. What kind of message are these people sending the children and their families? Next thing you know, they will have a room in high school to allow teenagers the freedom to explore also.

I am glad we homeschooled our son.

I for one am hoping that this is not true. Otherwise ugh!!
It was planned, but was stopped after protests of the parents and the public. The German Green Party had some advovates for pedophilia in their beginning. Meanwhile they've washed their hands of it. But now 'sexual exploitation' of very young children is one of the goals of the WHO. To me it's an invitation for pedophilia. A short time ago the sentence for pedophilia was reduced by our Attorney General.

You really can be glad. In Germany home schooling is not allowed.

I was searching to fact check the topic (since the "news" sources look like the hysterical right-wing hair-on-fire types) and it doesn't seem like any sexualization of children was intended. Apparently if you have a bunch of little ones together some will kiss each other or 'play doctor' and just generally be normal curious kids, and the kindergartens apparently like to have policies about how to deal with situations. I can kind of see how if "playing doctor" (in a non-sexual way) is considered normal and acceptable for young children, and if you don't want to shame children, it could be reasonable to allow it but only not in the middle of the main play room.

I never played doctor myself, but we did sometimes (in kindergarten age) hang upside down on the play equipment and let our panties show (girls had to wear dresses back then) if we were trying to get a boy's attention. And I remember when we climbed a tree, a neighbor boy showed me how far he could pee. None of it was sexual, just kid behavior.

I'm afraid I would probably say 'oh gross, don't touch yourself there' if I was a kindergarten teacher, and wind up shaming and scaring children and making their parents mad.

If by playing doctor you mean kids exploring each other’s private parts you can redirect them without shaming them. You can say nicely this isn’t something you do in school or a public place.

Now I have never taught anything other than college but I would think there’s a better way to handle it versus letting kids do whatever they want. I’m sure anyone that has taught kindergarten knows an appropriate way to handle it.

Home schooling is becoming more popular with what is happening within the schools & the curriculum being taught in some. Parents are being taken out of decisions involving their kids, being told they have no right to know what is happening while they are in school & shouldn't have any say in what is being taught.

I'm glad parents & others protested against this in that school.

Rebel News is right or far-right...

Rebel News (also known as The Rebel Media and The Rebel) is a Canadian far-right political and social commentary media website operated by Rebel News Network Ltd. It has been described as a "global platform" for the anti-Muslim ideology known as counter-jihad. It was founded in February 2015 by former Sun News Network personalities Ezra Levant and Brian Lilley.

Rebel News broadcasts its content only on the internet and has been compared to Breitbart News of the US. Rebel News has been described as being part of the alt-right movement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebel_News

And you're not seeing a red flag???

Well, of course, 4 year olds having their own masturbation room must be true, after all the story was published in the world renowned, "The Rebel" paper. For God's sake, who really thinks this a valid news story from a trusted news source! It's some turkey with a computer. Maybe in the next room is where they inject the gay gene??
The original poster is from Germany and stated that it had been in the German papers.

Disgusting. We need to demonize normal human behavior and teach our children that sex is dirty and our bits and pieces are not there for fun times, but are only appropriate when adult, preferably a Christian church going adult.

It's a trend - people don't care what the source of stories are, as long as it's not "mainstream media". No wonder we end up with terribly biased, exaggerated stories. I mean, no-one should have the time to read The Rebel, :D
