A private school having a " Dress-up as an old lady day"

....and here I am at almost 91 sitting here in my new grey leggings and a fashionable cowl neck top thinking ...
...Maybe I should get a curly grey wig and horn rimmed glasses to get into the old lady fashion....
..and no sorry, I really do not like to see those children dressed like that as a school project.

Actually, it is you who is perpetuating 'the old lady' image with your Negative Nancy attitude towards children who simply dress up as adults for fun.

Another view of that would be why the request to dress specifically as an "old lady'. Dressing up to represent a older person leaves it up to the child's imagination of what an older person male or female looks like to them.

We don't know how old the children are or the gender . We don't know why this private school chose this theme. We know this was a private school so social status probably puts the children as being the offspring of more affluent parents. I've never been to a private school but in the public schools I went to there were cliques & I know for sure kids can be cruel.

Since this is a thread for opinions. My opinion to see if the OP can get more info about the unknown.

Buzz. Nope. Leggings "hug" the leg and are made of heavier materials than regular "pants." Regular [stretch] pants are generally much looser around the legs and made of different fabrics. Now go buy yerself a pair of leggin's so you can compare. But we need pics.

I dont think it is offensive - and of course they will dress up as caricatures or stereotypes - wearing grey wigs, walking sticks etc

I dont think that means they think all older people are like that.
