Package delivery updates- phoney and bald faced lies!

The fake delivery updates have been a thing, and has gotten more blatant the last couple years. Here's the latest (of many):

First of all, the post office does NOT deliver on Sunday, secondly- the post office does not deliver to our physical residence, so the front door or driveway not being accessible was a purely made up...LIE!

All the carriers do it, USPS,UPS, Fedex... I don't know why, maybe to create the appearance that they are "on the job". 😣

USPS *does* deliver on Sunday if it's an Amazon package. I've gotten many of them, including two yesterday. How would a fake notice be created, and for what purpose? Amazon itself also delivers on Sunday, but two weeks ago they put my package on someone else's porch. Fortunately the guy brought it personally and returned it to me.

I suppose the weather has something to do with my missing delivery that was supposedly delivered this morning. The neighbors
didn't get mail either. Checked the USPS website but it admits nothing. Probably will get delivered tomorrow or Wed. depending on
the storms tonight? Mines a normal Herbal so I expect it this week. 1st time it was to come USPS> Leave it to the USPS to screw it up. haha

The U.S. Postal Service delivers on Sunday? That is surely news to me.

The algorithm that generates the wording included in the tracking notifications would be my view.

Here is a recent order that actually never got to me, check out the multiple "arrivals" on the same day:

I just got a package delivered via U.S. Postal Service on Sunday (yesterday). Of course, the darn P.O. dented the package so part of the item was broken. The shipper had it packed really well, there's no way she could've packed it any better but seems like the P.O. can find a way to break just about anything, sigh. (Maybe they shouldn't do Sun. deliveries, maybe those that have to work that day get ticked off and mishandle the packages.)

Here in Alabama, we do get package delivery on Sunday, from both USPS and UPS, especially during holiday seasons, like Christmas. I think that sometimes we might even get Fed-Ex on weekends.
The silly messages though, that seems to be happening all over, and we have been getting the same thing anytime the mailman does not deliver our mail.
We have seen them drive right on past our house (and the mailman knows who we are) and then we get a notice from Amazon that they couldn’t locate our residence and to please make sure we use the correct address when we make an order. Sometimes, they even deliver mail to us, but miss a package, so we still get the message blaming us for not getting the package, and telling us that we just need to go to the post office and pick it up. Of course, they usually bring it the next day.……… usually.

This week, the message is because they could not access our mailbox or driveway, and that part is probably actually true, because roads here have been closed and not very drivable because of all of the ice on the roads. We have packages that came UPS and then they are supposed to be turned over to the USPS for final delivery, but they are still stuck in some warehouse because the UPS trucks couldn’t go anywhere, and now my notice says it should be delivered by this Wednesday , instead of last Wednesday, when it was supposed to arrive.

@Nathan, USPS has a contract with Amazon (and possibly others) to deliver packages on Sunday. They don't deliver regular mail, at least not here on Sunday but packages they do. I'm not saying what you're receiving isn't 'fake,' all I'm saying is the USPS does deliver packages on Sunday :coffee:. Don...

OK I gotta share a couple photos of a package my daughter sent me via USPS:

Not long ago I received just the shipping label off a box that USPS was supposed to deliver to me. Just a label with a sticker saying the contents were lost. Nothing else, not even a number to call about my item. The seller sent a replacement and tried fighting to get his money back. That was unsuccessful. And plan on it just getting worse....

@Nathan Was 9361289724027242112653 not addressed correctly?

We don't have ANY mail delivery so I have it all shipped to the PO using the PO's street address and my box number. It works very well from any shipper UPS, Fedex, or USPS, other than you have to pick the packages up when the window is open.

I signed up for USPS "Informed delivery" and it is great!
It will show me a photo, in email, of a few pieces of mail to expect in my mail box ,daily ,and will send me an email when package delivery happens, with a photo of my package on my deck. You can leave instructions for where to put the item and I always say bottom step of long deck is fine. They also ask to comment on the delivery by clicking on icons in the email, and also there is the tracking feature.

I have been happy with it.

It's the correct shipping address. Current tracking is looking like this package is lost, or going to get lost in transit, have seen this pattern several times before. Note the red arrow shows a delivery "attempt", then rather than going back to the local Post Office it get sent 40 miles away to the area distribution center...hair-pulls.gif

The upside of living in a condo, is, the concierge on duty has to sign for our parcels. This is related to us via email. When we lived in a house, many parcels "went missing" .. particularly those that were obviously sent from the Franklin Mint.
This the reason why my gold or silver purchases from my supplier in Calgary come in unmarked boxes with a made up "sender address in Edmonton". Same thing when I send gold or silver items to Calgary for melting. They supply me with a Canada Post shipping label that has an "EXYZ street address and imaginary company name" on the label. Low profile shipping methods are the way to go for valuable items. Jimb.

This is almost identical to what's going on with a package an etsy.com seller sent me; also has been going and forth between my local P.O. and a town about 40 miles away from me.

EDIT: I just now checked the tracking again and the 2 times that it went to that other town are no longer appearing on the tracking info; now the tracking says it sat for a while at the P.O. 2 hours away! Those lyin' jerks!

I had mentioned in another thread that I never got a pair of shoes ordered from Ebay. This was a specific Easy Spirit walking shoe they don't make anymore. The seller was very nice and refunded me.

However! USPS tracking numbers are supposed to be good for 120 days per Google search. These were mailed about 11/10/23. The number should still be in the system. I thought I'd try it again to see if there was any movement of the package and it says the number is invalid. Can't trust those carriers.

I read this thread and thought about "back in the day", when you had no idea what was happening until it dropped through your letter box. Things have moved on.

I recently had a package take 14 days to go from Spain to the UK. Customs held it for days, and then the service used doesn't do weekends. For every benefit over the old days, there's a new kink in the process.

I signed up for the Informed Delivery just two days ago...its a long walk to my mailbox so this will help with that when there is no mail.
I understand the frustration with the package deliveries..I've tracked my packages that arrive in the Dallas area and then they'll spend a week going to three different facilities there before heading out to my town.

That is so frustrating, Remy. Have you tried looking for those shoes on Poshmark.com, mercari.com, or thredup.com? I've had good luck finding and buying discontinued clothing and shoes on all 3 of those sites.

That's those scam ones, right? I've gotten a few of those, but I knew it was a scam bc I didn't even order anything. (nor Michelle)
