What does music do for you?

Music has been enjoyed in various forms by virtually every civilization that's existed for thousands of years. There is something about it that is closely linked to our emotions. In many cases it reaches us in ways nothing else can by altering our moods, stirring feelings of love, excitement, and everything from despair to ecstasy. Our lives would be pretty empty without it I would think.

What effect does music have on you? 🎵🎶🎵🕺💃

Exactly what you said 😉

I am in awe of music and musicians because I have no talent in that area at all. So it's all magic to me. Plus, various pieces of music has its hooks into my history/memory, so in a very real way, music is the story of my life.

It's kind of funny, that we sometimes can't remember what we went in to the kitchen for.......but the minute a song comes on and jars your memory, it'll take you (me) right back to the time and place of that song. Whether it's Santa Cruz on the boardwalk in 1967, or dancing the disco away in 1985. It's like magic. I love that.

Music utterly transports me. I love it. I was going to say it does nothing for me until I start dancing to it, but that isn't so. I can send me to another time and place instantly. I sing along with my music too. So my vocal chords get a workout as well.
I can't imagine life without music. It would be such a terrible loss. I'm going to need to preserve my hearing forever so that I will never be without the music I love so much. All of the arts in life are important to be. Music is one of them, but a very special one.

Music and how it affects you are subjective. No doubt, music can influence moods and elicit many, if not every, emotion. A song will not give everyone the same feeling. A certain song might reflect how I'm feeling at that time. A song can lighten up my mood if I'm feeling a little blue. Music can take you to another time and place. A song might throw me into the wayback machine of the past.

Knowing yourself and which music you pair with your emotions will improve self-regulation, or “feeling your feelings.” That's the beauty of music. 🙂🎶

It brings back memories. I seem to associate a lot of the music I listen to my younger days. Certain Foghat songs remind me of riding in my buddies 69 Camaro for example. Some songs remind me of women that are in my past. You get the idea.

Wow, someone (Most likely a team) put a lot of work into that. I think music is a lot like a recipe using different instruments, harmonies, tempos, beats, words, creativity, voices, and even the very soul of the artists involved. Then when you include the listeners emotions and mood, it's simply amazing what can happen.
