When Using My Phone

I sometimes tilt a bit to look at stuff. Often on SF it will then trurn my whole screen horizontal. This is the only site that does that. Vis there a reason? @Matrix

In your Display Options is there a "switch" for Auto-rotate Screen? When I switch it off that doesn't happen any more.

Long shot, but swipe down from the top of your home page on your phone and see if there is a rotation lock or auto rotate icon.

Home page ... the display that shows up when you first turn your phone on.
You might be able to swipe down from the top of that display and find some quick setting icons.
If so, look for a rotation lock icon or an auto rotate icon.

On my iPad, there is a rotation lock icon and on my android Moto G Pure phone, there is an auto rotate icon.

Well @Ruthanne it's easy enough to check what you've done.
After you change the status of that icon, turn your phone sideways and see if the display rotates or not.
If it rotates, change the status of the icon again and check it.
Rinse and repeat until it's acting the way you'd like

Thank you, it didn't turn horizontal when I checked. We'll see if it keeps doing it on this site soon.

I've only used my phone once to view Senior Forums and honestly I prefer the horizontal view.
Seems to make it look more like it does on my computer when viewed on the phone's small display.
But it's all a matter of personal choice of course.
All other times and when using the phone normally, I don't want the display to rotate at all.
So that swipe down auto-rotate icon is handy, depending on what I'm doing with the phone.

You never used the rotation lock? You don't lock it, it rotates automatically on all sites, a feature of smart phones.

I only used what was in my settings but apparently that wasn't enough.
