Heard a story today of a fellow who flipped out when he saw a collection jar at the grocery store. The jar had photo and sad tale of an 8 year old with cancer. When the manager came, he man explained that this was his DD and the person had stolen his identity and daughter’s life off FB.

I don't give to those kinds of on the counter pleas for support because I once watched a documentary about scams like that. Instead I give to known causes like Operation Smile or a local SPCA.

Kitty charities get what I care to donate.

Some people will push back on you for that. "but the children."

I'm with you though. I donate to animal charities only. Mainly cats and not national organization. Two YouTube cat rescues I follow, one local in the next county that does not have a shelter and also Bald Eagle rehab, rescue and live cam.

There is a rescue near me called Itty Bitty Orphan Kitty. They get what little I have to donate.

This reminds me of another story I've been reading. Basically, a professional football player (soccer) went out to a nightclub, got drunk, and missed the next game. The guy is 26 years old.

The stories ask why he's not concentrating on his football, why he thinks it's okay to go out drinking all night, why he doesn't just knuckle down and work hard. Ignoring, the whole time, that he earns a reported £375,000 a week. A 26 year old, on a four year contract at that salary level, and he wants to party? Well knock me down............. It's obscene wealth, and if I were in his position, I'd hang my boots up and party too.
