Found pictures and info of my and others on these forums on Google. Do you know if there is a way to get them off?
Pretty sure that once something is on the 'Net (which is everything we ever do online), it's on the 'Net forever. (Meaning findable via search engines.) If you're not comfortable with your picture there, you can change your avatar for future posts, but what's already there will remain, I do believe.Found pictures and info of my and others on these forums on Google. how could they do that if they didn't know your name ?Thanks everyone for your replies. I am just afraid of the wrong party getting my info. Last December an imposter identified himself as me and charged a host of things on my credit cards.
He did know my name. He got it off my phone along with my apps.how could they do that if they didn't know your name ?
so nothing to do with pictures from here ?He did know my name. He got it off my phone along with my apps.
No. Not from here. But I have become ultra careful I guess. I no longer answer emails, texts, or phone calls I'm not expecting or don't recognise.so nothing to do with pictures from here ?
Thank you. I don't want my conversations removed. If I have to do that, I'll just leave it alone. I suppose if they can't get ino my profile, there is no need to worry. Please "Report" the posts/pictures you want to have removed, once they are taken down from this forum, Google will also remove them after a while.
All conversations are private; all forum posts are public. Google, just like a forum guest, can only access public information.Thank you. I don't want my conversations removed. If I have to do that, I'll just leave it alone. I suppose if they can't get ino my profile, there is no need to worry.
Thank you Kaila. I am fairly certain I haven't given any info in my posts that would identfy me.An experience like that would surely cause most of us to feel very upset and to be extra cautious. Very sorry that awful thing happened to you, and to your friend, @oldsunbird
In general, many of us don't give identifying info in posts, in any forum.
Unbelievably I found a picture of my father on the internet that I didn't know about and I'm almost certain he wouldn't have known about either.I once found a pic of my middle brother and my dad on the
web....neither had any computer access!?@?@?
I know. If I understood better how the technology works, I probably wouldn't be so parinoid.I once found a pic of my middle brother and my dad on the

I log in to Senior Forums from Google. That's how I found it. Others are there too. Not just our pictures, but all our posts and answers. Posted as recent members.I'm sure coming across that information was very disconcerting! A few years ago, the State of N.J.'s employees and retirees had our names, salaries/pension amounts and ages published. I happened across it because I "Google" myself from time to time to see where my music is winding up. I also found out a porn site was using one of my songs! I sent an email to Google immediately and they handled it.
How did you find the pictures? What did you input in the search to get to them?
Thanks Gardrnlover. I should do that. Iused to use the same one everywhere so I could remember it. Then I used different ones for different sites, writing them down in a small notebook. Then I misplaced the notebook. I blame it on my age.The dark web is a scary place, more of our information is available there than we would like to know. It's the monster under the bed, only this monster is real.

I use Brave's private browser to log into SF. For one thing, I found that I don't see ads when I use Brave, but was seeing them here when I used Chrome. I have done a Google search a couple of times for OneEyedDiva and nothing came up. Curious.I log in to Senior Forums from Google. That's how I found it. Others are there too. No, you didn't give any information that would identify you, Mary... I just looked at your profile. You sound like a totally lovely person! The only thing to consider if you're still concerned about privacy here is perhaps using an avatar that isn't your actual photo. So glad you joined us here! @oldsunbirdI am fairly certain I haven't given any info in my posts that would identfy me.
