Hi, this scam is from Vietnam..........

I've graduated from the average domestic scams to international ones. I don't know why, but I've been getting phone scams from Vietnam. At least that's where my phone says they're coming from. I assume it's a better class of scam than one from Dogtooth, Ariz.
Wonder if this is the same scam. Seems the the embassy phone number in Hanoi has been spoofed for a while now.

Scam Call Warning

No matter where they're coming from...they're annoying even if you ignore them and don't answer.

I kept my phone number from AZ when we moved to PA back in 2022 just because it's such a hassle to change it. Anyway, I get 2 phone calls every day from the area code in AZ. I usually don't answer them, but just because I was in "that" mood the other day I answered it. No one said anything. Total silence and then they disconnected. What's the point????

I remember running to the kitchen phone to be the first one to answer a call. Fast forward about 100 years and I only answer calls from people I know, and even then it’s a hit or miss. I actually got a call from the Netherlands, maybe I should’ve answered it.
Ah yes, I remember that, too... all five of us kids yelling "I'll get it!" Now it's like "phone, I don't need no steekin' phone!" ☎️

You're being "robo-called.

The number is automatically called and if a human answers, the call is quickly transferred to an available worker. If no worker is available, the call is disconnected.

Occasionally, you'll hear, "Please hold for an important message". Um....yeah. Click.

And back then, we never got spam calls. And seldom did we ever get any prank calls. But I will admit, we did make a few. :ROFLMAO:
we made one once.

I still feel guilty to this day. I was about 14, and my siblings.. and the woman across the road always got her shopping delivered from the local grocers, who were about 1/2 a mile away on the same road....so one day we called the grocers and placed this huge order for the Mrs across the road... and we watched from the window as the grocers boy had been given the task of hauling all this shopping on a cart.. to the Mrs house.... and then got turned away... and had to haul it all back again...

I've been thinking about calls from Vietnam. If you're a 70 year old veteran, the last thing you want to hear, after 50 years, is a call from someone in Vietnam.
