Latest XL Bully attack - woman dead

I can't see him being remorseful because he refused to have them muzzled when he was told he had to say ''no-one is going to tell me what to ''.. etc.. the fact is he was breeding from these dogs.. and the money was more important to him... and only now he's facing prison is he acting sorry
He must be punished but I hope his remorse is genuine. After all his own boy saw it all happening. It's a terrible situation.

Bless your heart, Rose. But honestly, looking at his pictures, I suspect his concern is being held accountable, rather than any real remorse. I may be wrong.

Another attack...this time in Battersea Park... and children..

A mother says her two children 'are lucky to be alive' after an unmuzzled XL Bully launched an 'unprovoked' attack on them in Battersea park.

The dog attacked the women and her children, aged one and two, as they entered the playground at Latchmere Recreation Ground, south London on Friday, February 2.

The woman - who wished to remain anonymous - claims the unleashed XL Bully 'launched itself on the pram' carrying her one-year-old daughter, tipping it over and biting the child.

The attack happened a few days after new laws came into place banning the breeding, selling or abandonment of the controversial breed. Since December, all Xl Bully dogs must be leashed and muzzled when in public.

The mother says she desperately tried to stop the 'huge' animal and screamed for help, as the dog's owner ran from the opposite side of the park and attempted to restrain the animal.

The police arrived at the scene within minutes, after a neighbour called 999 after witnessing the attack.

Officers were unable to locate the man and his dog after they had fled the area, the woman told the Express. Police say they are yet to find the suspect.

Both her children were left with bite marks

Since the incident, the mother says she is 'really nervous to leave the house' and says the dog involved in the attack 'wanted to kill someone'.

She added: 'In Battersea, there's a lot of families and a lot of dogs. Everyone is nervous to leave their house.

These dogs are so out of control and are on our doorstep. There's nothing we can do about it.'

The XL Bully breed is now illegal to own without an exemption certificate in England and Wales, meaning owners could be taken to court and have their pets seized if they are unregistered.

The National Police Chiefs' Council revealed that about 40,000 dogs had been granted exemptions by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), allowing them to remain in the community.

As the ban came into force at the beginning of February, members of the public have been urged to report XL Bullys being kept in breach of the law to 101.

This will not stop unless owners put in the time and effort to train their dogs. Judging from the article the dog was kept in a small area, it must have been so frustrated. These dogs are powerful they need a lot of exercise and space. These dogs are born innocent and now they are being put to sleep because their owners cannot or will not put in the time, shame on them. I watched an interview with an owner in the US, her dog sired a lot of the dogs that were sent to the UK. Her dogs were magnificent, so gentle, it is all in the way the dog is handled and training has to start from day one.
What happens when another breed of dog kills a person , will that breed then be euthanized, where does it stop?

This is the owner of the killer dogs... 38 years old.. They say never judge a book by it's cover , but if it quacks like a duck'' no-one is telling me what to do with my F'in dogs''.. then it is a duck....

according to the Independent

American XL bully's are dogs are close to the pitbull terrier and have been crossbred with other breeds such as English bulldogs, Olde English Bulldogs and American bulldogs. XL's got recognition as a breed from the US United Kennel Club in 2013 but they are not recognised by the main dog associations in the UK

It's true, there is a 'type' that usually owns XL Bullys. These are often foolish inadequates who wish to own a 'hard' dog to terrorise the neighbourhood. The animals are kept in tiny houses, treated brutally and never exercised.
