Woke this morning to no power in the house which also meant no water since I have a well with an electric pump. Turned a bedroom light on and crawled back under the covers to stay warm. Several hours later the light woke me when the PUD got the problem fixed. Power had been off for nine hours after some drunk took out a power pole down in the village around 3am.

My grandson used to visit us almost every weekend, but since he started attending the transitional kindergarten (whatever that is) we don't see him longer that often. But he came by today. He has his own dog but still loves my dogs. And he still likes to "explore" everything, including playing with my search light. Well, good times never last. I guess I have to start visiting him 7 miles away. His 5th birthday is coming up next month.

pictures: middle right, bye, bye
bottom picture: my daughter sent me a picture of his latest toy, the one I actually didn't buy (an electric bicycle.) I am feeling sidelined.

I got some of the Barn tidied today. I've got so much in there most of which belongs to my estranged husband who says he doesn't want it, he now lives in an apartment so he has no space for it.. but that means I'm left with a ton of tools, and big chunky stuff.. that's taking up so much space in there. I'd sell the tools but there's literally thousands of pieces.. from the tiniest packs of screws , to specialist tools... to very expensive electrical tools..

.....just far too much for me to go through individually... but I really need to get them out, and of course I can't throw them, many things are still in their packets.. most things have only been used only a handful of times and are in good condition....but there's too much for me to start trying to sell.. and I wouldn't know how much they originally cost anyway.. it would take me weeks to look everything up, even if had the weeks available it would take to even look through every box..

There is some plumbers/mechanics/carpenters/ builders, IT people out there who would give their eye teeth for these things..

I just don't know what to do or how to get them sold... I really can't have people coming to the house knowing there's all that stuff in the barn.. I'd be a target for robbers.. .

Anyway.. in the barn there's 4 large snap-on lidded boxes which have my things in, and they sit in the corner... and so today I had them out looking for firelighters.. to burn my old diaries in the Incinerator.. which I did... and then while I was there, I tidied up a bit more of the work bench where I could. ..but I really need a lot more floor space to be available...

@hollydolly Do you have a favorite handyman that you use when needed? If you have no use for the stuff and no idea of the value, why not just gift it all to him? If you don't have a favorite handyman...I dunno.

I finally perused a seed catalog that's been sitting here for three weeks. Found some globe amaranth seeds that are hard to get, but the shipping charge is $12. I wouldn't mind that except that the seeds are only $4. Guess I won't order them.

No I have no handyman..my handyman was my husband he is one of those genius types who can literally tun his hand to anything...

It would be best if you could sell it all in bulk. It sounds like it’s valuable. No quibbling about the price. Tell them to make you a reasonable offer and they have to take it all - every single thing, so you aren’t left with junk. Cash! Now to figure out where to get that one person or business.

Are there auctions there any more? I know ours will pick up large, bulky bins for a fee and then you get a percentage of the sales. It will be obvious to them that this is valuable. Some money is better than nothing.

If it’s top quality stuff, it might be worth it for them. Take some photos, especially of the high end stuff, and contact them.
I just might..I don't know.. there's way too much stuff.. the larger items I could sell myself..it's the literal thousands of smaller items. screwdriver sets.. multitude of saws.. carpenters tools galore..... Car Jacks and car maintenance tools by the box load.... ..boxes full of plumbing equipment.. .. which are boxed, and so heavy I can't even lift the boxes..

Even though we had a great time today, we didn't get too wild, so no bail money will be needed. But I am tired....Mom really wears me out!!

So now I'm just taking it easy, watching the Daytona 500, and I expect to doze off when it's over.

Good night!

I could have sworn that was you and your mom on the News at 6. They let you out with no bail? On your own recognizance? Really? On? Your? Own? Recognizance? Oh. Em. Gee.

It had been 10 days since I left the house, not feeling well, constant migraines, sleep was come and go.

Today, I finally felt rested and the tension in my body had let up, so it was time to move. I went out to Walmart, Dollar store. I had been craving chocolate for those ten days, so stocked up on candy and the ususual neccessary stuff.

There was the sweetest man with two little children in the store. They came in at the same time as me and were discussing which fruit to buy. I ran into them in the candy aisle. The man was was looking for a bag of little three musketeers bags for his mother. I thought that was the most wonderful exchange between a father and his children. Finding Grandma just the right thing she would love.

I am also proud to annouce I have finally made appointments for all 3 dogs to go in for their yearly exams and any vaccines they may have due. I have them schedule every other day as I don't have the energy to go back and forth 6 times in one day. I did that last year and it was just to hard on me. Hopefully this will be easier and I don't make myself sick.

Hope you all are doing your best, taking care of yourself and fitting in things when you feel up to it!

After several days of storms, I gave up trying to do anything productive or anything at all. I just lay in bed, playing puzzle games on my tablet and dozing off here and there. Now I'm eating pistachios, pepitas and Harvest Snaps pea crisps.

A couple things that have me happy right now. It's always the smallest things, isn't it? After several weeks (months?) of no black pepper in the house, I finally got 12 oz. I'm a black pepper fiend, so that was exciting.

I also got something I'm trying for the first time. Kids' calm gummies. It has magnesium, L-Theanine and Lemon Balm in it. I bought it for the small portions because the adult size calm gummies was too much for me. I had to cut it in pieces. The kids' portion looks to be the right portion. I'll see when I try it.

Because of the storms, it was a quiet President's Day? Anyone else do something fun for President's Day?

Well I woke far too early this morning.. don't know why, just couldn't stay asleep...very frustrating because I'll struggle to stay awake this afternoon, and I'm expecting a call from the Doctor to discuss my recent Ultrascan results...

I wish he would ring this morning, so I could get out and get things done.. but oh well.. can't do anything about it.. so I'll just have to wait it out..

One of our most well know Strictly Come Dancing Stars has suddenly died. Only in his 40's, no explanation given for his death, he seems to have been relatively healthy in the last few days. Seems odd for an otherwise very fit young man.. R.I.P

I'm sure I know the answer to this but since it's all your husband's stuff can you convince him to get a truck and haul it all away?

Outta my way, y'all. I'm moving next door to @Ken N Tx! It's 28 here this morning 🥶

You're right, @caramel. It's the little things, but black pepper? Okay. Black pepper it is, if that's all it takes to make you happy;)

There are things I want to do today, but will I? Need MossOut for a big spot in DD's front yard. She has the bright idea that she can just cover it up with cardboard and cover it over with pine straw. Um. No, that won't work. I have garden center gift cards to pay for it. Because, yanno, I'm too tight to spend real money.

First, I'm gonna start with a shower and breakfast and stuff.

I only have one workbench of tools to deal with and I am paralyzed by the thought of what to do with them. Do you have any trusted friends that might have a use for anything you have...at least they could come over and look without worry.

he doesn't answer any mails or calls, plus when he visited to get some of his stuff last march he said he didn't have room for the tools and I was to sell them..... I'm thinking that during the court divorce proceedings I might ask my lawyer to put a provision in that he has to remove all this stuff by a certain date..

No everyone I know wouldn't have the space for these.. My daughter has taken a few of the more expensive items but even she doesn't have enough space in her shed..
