Chocolate prices to skyrocket

Apparently it's all to do with the price of sugar. Higher fertiliser and energy costs making it more expensive to produce. Plus a big shortfall from India and Thailand, which have both been suffering from the effects of drought. Yep, stockpile those Easter eggs while you can 😋

I like chocolate. I can do without it though. Sugar is another issue. But I don't buy in mass quantities so I'm OK. I discovered the bulk sugar at WINCO I only put on hot cereal.

I buy bags of store brand mini chocolate morsels (like are used in making cookies). I like to throw a spoonful or two of them when I have a bowl of cereal. I just checked online for the store where I get them. The last time I bought any they were $2.49 a bag; they're now $5.39 with courtesy card ($5.99 without).

Publix had Dove chocolate on BOGO sale (ending today). DD and I were in Publix this morning. I got six bags of Dove dark chocolate. Should last until day after tomorrow...
I went to the Grocery Outlet months ago. They had these vegan cocoanut chocolate bars for 5/$1.00. They sell for over 2.00 at the health food store. I could have bought 20. I bought 1. I know they didn't last long on that shelf.
