I think you need to provide at least one link to a reliable news source for this story? AS a Canadian I KNOW what the real Stanley Cup is worth ....Priceless. JimB in Toronto.
 

I saw an article showing a display of these cups and people were swarming around to purchase them, but I do not see why they are so special. We have had insulated thermal mugs for quite a while now, and pretty much , they are just stainless steel mugs, regardless which company makes them.
However, one person had their car catch fire and burn up, and her Stanley mug made it through the car fire unscathed, and she had a picture (maybe a video, don’t really remember) of that, and the Stanley Company us using that in their advertisements.
Beyond that, I have no idea why this particular mug would be so valuable, and the price is not much different than some of the other stainless steel mugs I have seen being sold on Amazon.
 
Not understanding the popularity of this tumbler either, but my 16 yr. old granddaughter asked for one for her birthday.

And my DIL got her the pink one she wanted .... it was the hit of the birthday luncheon that we went to that day. :)
 
@jimintoronto..yes, the NHL's Stanley Cup is "quite an honor to have achieved.

The Stanley Cup... mentioned in this thread..is a stainless steel drinking mug...that is 'all the rage'..quite expensive..
That's why the lady that stole.and 65 were found in the trunk of her car was arrested.

And, as one⬆️ mentioned..made national news
 
There is also Hydroflask. About the same price as Stanley. Maybe not as cool. My oldest daughter had one only about a week before she lost it downtown. Thinks she left it on a park bench while eating lunch. But she loses a lot of things. It’s her way.
 
They arrested somebody for stealing tumblers? I am shocked. The thief was probably a victim of a poisonous society that left her scared by an unfulfilled life, and the inability to achieve self reconciliation with her truths.
 
Yes, not only heard of it but now it's the "hot item" being advertised on my game apps. I think it was also offered as a Steals & Deals item on GMA. I don't get it. What's the big deal? Hot items get stolen. At one time it was Tide. Another it was Nutella. Go figure!

One of the gyms in town donates their unclaimed lost and found to PAWS thrift. I got a Klean Kanteen recently for $2.50. Just washed it real good. I'm sure that's where it came from.
 
I actually saw someone with one not long ago. Just another version of the Yeti cup. Another branded thing where you are paying more for the name, than the item
