Has anyone been to a Liquidation store?

Apparently, there are newer kind of stores that are cheaper than "dollar" stores. Liquidations stores. Some sell Amazon returns, as well as close outs, etc. I had heard that they were mostly near big cities, but now, they've sprung up all over. BTW, not to be confused with "Ollies". There's one just about 10 miles from me. I haven't been , yet .Just Google " "Liquidation stores". There also in the UK.
Has anybody been to one? What did you think?

We have them here. They carry goods from places like Costco, The Bay, etc. The prices aren’t really low. They do allow access to goods that you might normally need a membership to purchase. I wouldn’t drive across town to shop there. It seems many people do, the parking lots are packed.

Aren't most all Retail stores Sears, Penny, Macy's etc. in Liquidations as we speak.
I'm sure that stuff brand new & that it doesn't sale, are going to the super stores for sale
and the Retail Stores write it off as a loss at the cost of the stuff they donate. The Retail
Stores like Macy's needs shelf room as their snotty nosed customers know old stuff too.
So you see keeping ahead of your neighbor is also like watching a Pop Concert of Hotties.

There was a store., I believe it was called Furniture Liquidators, that existed for years in N.J. but they closed their doors a few years ago. I don't know how many stores they had or if only the one closest to us closed.

My favorite thrift-consignment shop often sells new clothing with the manufacturers tags still on them. A couple of times I've seen items with J.C. Penny tags on them as well as near new garments from Dress Barn Woman. Their clothing is a whole lot cheaper than the stores.

I haven't seen the kind of store you are referring to, but I'd sure be interested in going to one.

They recently opened a 'Treasure Hunt' store locally.
You search for Amazon returns. Yay, fun! 🙄
I went once, not my thing, but I can see the draw.

The "scariest" place I ever visited was a store that billed itself as a "grocery liquidator". It had just opened and I drove past it frequently, so I thought I'd check it out.

The shelves were full of foods that no one in their right mind would buy.....nearly expired, totally expired, water-damaged, labels half gone, dented cans, cracked jars, etc.

There was neither rhyme nor reason to the shelves....olives would be next to battered boxes of cereal, ketchup with the canned fruit (but then, the tomato IS a fruit, so maybe it does belong there....)

The next time I drove past the store, it was closed for good. I guess the Board of Health also paid a visit?

We used to have a couple here. One was mostly office supplies. My hubby loved going through them bargain hunting. We did pick up some things for a large discount over regular prices. Haven't seen such a store in several years though.
