I love your pictures of trains, Oy. I think it's wonderful that our British friends have done such a good job of preserving so many of them. However, I rather doubt that they were this clean and shiny back in their working days. ;)

How true. A little story . . .
In the early 70s, the aircraft carrier I was serving on was used to shoot a few scenes for a movie. As is common, there were aircraft lined up along each side of the forward flight deck. The planes, normally a very muted flat gray, had been repainted a very shiny gloss gray with blackened wheels and brightly colored highlights. The re-painting had only been done on the side of each aircraft facing toward the camera! :ROFLMAO:
