If your bra hurts - get a fitting!

It too bad that clothes sizes are so different between manufactures. I just ordered a pair of New Balance in the same size & model that I have right now. The new ones just arrived & don't fit. This is the first time that I've had a problem with New Balance as they have always been consistent in sizing.

I hate even thinking of shopping for bras.

I hear you, @Lilac, and I concur. It's a frigging nightmare. I'd rather have a root canal than go bra shopping. You're right, clothing and shoe sizes are a mess. There's such inconsistency in sizing between manufacturers that it takes forever to find something that actually fits properly. The same item from the same manufacturer that you bought before fits differently the next time you go to buy it. 🙄😖

Bra shopping? I reiterate, it's a frigging nightmare. It makes a girl consider just letting them go free-range. 🤔

Re link in OP - meh, experts from lingerie shops say we should all get fitted every 6 months - and I'm sure they can then encourage us to buy their expensive brands.

I put this in the category of You should change your pillow every 6 months - say experts from Tontine.

Yes clothes sizing, and that includes bras, can be inconsistent - I m sure that is a problem everyone faces on different clothing items

But I don't find getting comfortable bras a problem myself and I just work out for myself if they fit.

Oh, sorry. I was searching for a philosophical thread about cup half full vs cup half empty, and this popped up (Stupid search bot).
Anyway, you all have great points ...... I mean ......oh never mind..... bye.
Well gents, let's hope, that this won't become a topic for us in future ... :ROFLMAO:

Better yet....don't wear one :)
I don't have that option when I go out Colleen, but I don't wear one when I'm home. Too restrictive! Since my son lives with me now, I wear loose fitting T-shirts or dresses, or jumpers, sometimes vests, so the fact that I'm braless is not evident.

@hearlady That's exactly what I do..buy a few that are comfortable. I only had a fitting once, at J.C. Penney, a couple of decades ago.

I’m the same way One Eyed Diva. I no longer wear a bra at home and since I rarely go out, that’s most of the time.

When you were fitted, were the measurements taken like George’s video or was it different. When I last bought a bra the video showed a measurement taken above the breast and then again where the nipples are. I’m not sure which is right but it would seem like George’s video is more accurate. Measuring the actually size of one breast and adding it to the measurement seems to make more sense.

Once I find a comfortable bra I usually purchase several.
