I need to get outside and spread more mulch, but it's still a tad too chilly.

Since I didn't get to go to Cracker Barrel, I made myself the usual fried egg on toast (white done done done and runny yolk) and sliced up half an avocado.

I'm just gonna take 40 winks while I wait for the temp to climb a little.

Good morning, my friends. I am finally testing negative after a case of Covid that slammed me Monday afternoon. Am back to mostly feeling human, though I'm not yet at full strength. It likely wouldn't have hit so hard if I hadn't just finished dancing with a nasty case of influenza.

I isolated in a separate wing of the house and to date nobody else has gotten sick, including DH and the 8 people who were here for dinner the night before my symptoms started. How DH and TGS avoided it is a mystery.

If I disappear again without notice it will mean a case of Covid rebound hit, courtesy of the Paxlovid medication course I've been taking.

In any event, I'm here today and glad to be so. Will skim some of whatever mischief y'all have been up to while I've been gone but will surely miss some bits, so please excuse my oversights in offering sympathies, support or congratulations for the events in your lives.

OMG Star.. you've been hit with the BIG stick in recent weeks health wise... jeez, thank goodness you were able to isolate and have care too.... I;m so sorry you've been through that. I had noticed that you hadn't posted and thought that perhaps as you do sometimes, had gone away for the week... so I wasn't overly concerned 🤗

So pleased you're feeling so much better..🌷🌷

How's your appetite StarSong? Can you eat chicken soup? 🥣 It really does help. Feel better soon!

Appetite has been terrible. The Covid was bad enough but adding insult to injury, the Paxlovid makes my saliva taste terrible. Many describe it as a metallic taste - I can't define it other than it's truly nauseating.

DH has been willing to cook, heat, buy, order or otherwise provide whatever food I fancy, but very little appeals right now. Tonight is my final dose of Paxlovid, thank goodness.

I lost 2 pounds with the flu and 4 more with this bout of Covid. I was ok with the 2 but not so much with the additional 4.
Not a diet I'd recommend to anyone.

Last two days have been dominated by our efforts to sort all documents, receipts & tax slips toward filing our tax return for tax year 2023. Tedious stuff!

However, I also repaired a 3-way floor lamp that wasn't working... now it give light again.

And last evening I made a big pizza with our favorite topping - tomato sauce, sliced onion & bell pepper, roasted garlic, black olives, diced mushrooms, sliced artichoke-hearts, parmesan & aged-cheddar cheeses. Plus, on my wife's half, I'd added a thin layer of spinach (a fave of hers) under the cheese. So we ate half and will have the other half tonight for dinner. Making it leaves a mountain of dishes, and I'm the house's dishwasher.

We're experiencing fluxy weather, generally few degrees up to around 7C (46F) during the day, and somewhat below freezing at night. But forecasts are for temps to trend a little cooler and possibly a bit more snow over the next few days. Today the ground is bare and it's sunny out, and I'm taking a lunch break now, and we've got a couple outdoor tasks we'll pursue soon.

As expected, my neighbors blasted their music from their yard this afternoon. Looking at my decibel meter app, it was way above the legal limit. I recorded it and was just about to call the police. They stopped at that moment. Later I realized why they did that. They were hoping I'd call the police so I wouldn't call the police when it was clear they were all intoxicated.

After the music was turned down, the yelling, screaming and hooting started. Several hours later, that was followed by screaming the Happy Birthday song.

I'm hoping thing are quieting down for the night since it's Sunday, but they're drunk/stoned so no guarantees.

I'm trying to destress from the day. Maybe some potato chips will help.

The US is one of only two countries that taxes its citizens who reside abroad, although there is a tax free allowance . Our American friend who lives in the village got so fed up having to fill in a tax form, including joint accounts with her partner, that she renounced her US citizenship.

Good morning everyone. :)

I am hoping the weather is going to improve for the upcoming Easter weekend. Today I am going to the hairdresser and afterwards we plan a pub lunch before taking a leisurely walk home unless of course it's raining, in which case, it will be a sprint or as near a sprint as we can manage! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️☔

Good Morning All! 18 degrees presently but the good news is that it is not snowing and supposed to get up to 47 this afternoon. Unfortunately I cannot go out for a walk because all the things I was planning to do yesterday I have to do today. Yesterday, my friend came up and brought me eggs and then we went shopping. Now off to get started on my day. Have a good one!
