Reflections of My Life

Saved a women this week, she had a wreak , was hard for me to get her door open, I got it open the air bags were all deployed, was hard for me to get her out of the car, she had to set down with me , and hold on to me, she was in shock, funny thing was she ran into this truck, it was her fault, there were two guys setting in the truck they would not help me with her, they stayed in the truck until the police arrived.

Thank God you helped her. Sometimes I think we are put somewhere at a certain to be a help to someone, many times a stranger. Was she injured?

I am missing one of our members who posted a lot and gave me a cause to smile on the good morning thread. @timoc . Did I miss something? The last post I saw from him was on Feb. 28th. I suppose he could be on a vacation somewhere. It is weird but when someone who posts often here and then suddenly is gone, it makes me sad.

Today is a cross between rain and snow. Looks and sounds icy. So my other friend who was going to come up will not be coming today. I expected this in March. The recent years here have been like this in March and April too. I remember having our big wood stove going as late as June! I hope it won't be like that again. I don't get hung up on the weather. If it is wet out I stay inside.

So today I will be doing my laundry. Week-ends seem to be a good time to do it. I have decided to start walking the hall again for exercise. When I do that.........I always do it. But when I walk outside if the weather is bad I skip it. So if I walk the hall no matter what the weather is and it is nice out, I can do both. I think I will walk the hall on the lower level today while I do my laundry. They made that new rule that you have to stay with your laundry while you do it. This way I can get my walk in while I stay with my laundry.

I just got a new paperback book, Keep Your Brain Alive. 83 Neurobic Exercises to help prevent memory loss & increase mental fitness. Not that I am worried about myself, but you never know. Actually I want to work on my son's brain once he moves here........without him knowing I am doing this. His disability has to do with his brain and how it works or doesn't work. I swear after reading a bit of this book I imagine his brain is a total mess. I just don't think it was formed right. Now if I could get him to follow a keto diet I know that would help but no way, he is is a sugar addict for sure.

Anyway, I am going to start doing some of these Neurobic exercises because I am curious about them. And I do forget where I put things or what I was going to do. Also I seem to get into routines and the book wants you to change your routines and do things to stimulate new brain activity. Exploring new walking routes instead of going to the same parks all the time is something I can do. Another one is next time you go somewhere and come home, close your eyes before you unlock your door. Then keeping your eyes closed go into your house/apartment and do whatever you do when first coming inside. Like putting your keys away, your coat, your shoes, etc.

Well, I didn't really need to go grocery shopping today..........Wednesday I had a grocery delivery, Friday my friend and I went on the bus to Walmart and today when my other friend called and said she was on her way. Went to Walmart again. I never turn down the opportunity to go so I bought stuff that I always use. Plus she brought me the eggs. I was excited about that!

Anyway I did not get my housework done today. Tomorrow is another day. I need to get it all done tomorrow because Tuesday we are having a HUD inspection of our apartments. Got to make it look nice.

trouble is he's blocked his 'latest activity'' so we can't see when he was last here...

I find it interesting that different breeds of chicken lay different color eggs.
Generally we only have brown shelled eggs as the go to free range eggs in the UK on supermarket selves..

When I was young we had white shelled eggs, they fell out of favour and for the last 40 years it's been brown.. Recently White shelled eggs have come back into favour.. which I love, no difference in the taste but I was always annoyed that we had the choice taken from us..

When I go to the farm to get the eggs, I get a mix or brown and white shelled ... and sometimes I can even get Blue both at the farm and at the supermarket..

In our stores we usually can choose between white or brown. They have more whites available. I have a friend who asked me if I will eat brown eggs. I told her yes that there is no difference in the egg, just the girl that laid it. She refuses to eat them and her boyfriend bought some and she got mad at him over it!

Our eggs are not stamped like those.

Hi Kat, How ridiculous of someone to think there's a difference in quality between white and brown eggs.. just because of the colour of the shell.

Our eggs are stamped to show the farming method so they can be traced back if ever there is an outbreak of Salmonella which there was 35 years ago...

Nope they don't do that here. Every now and then there are outbreaks here. I think they just trace it back to the store and brand.

Same with people!

My sister has kept chickens the last 20 years. She usually only has 3 or 4. They are more pets than anything, She has had many different breeds over the years so I have seen a lot of different color eggs. They are fed on fresh fruit and greens, mealworms and some organic grains. I must say the eggs from a home chicken are so much better!

No she was not injured but permedics were called just in case, I left after the permedics showed up, gave her my card, but didn't catch her name, my wife was waiting in the car across the road, she's on oxgen and a walker, I had to make sure she was ok , I knew the other women was in safe hands.
