Amazon messaging assistant? Question.

Is this the worst or is it just me? Amazon used to have great customer service, but I haven't ordered from them much at all in the past ten years so I remained unaware of all the changes. I ordered something earlier last month and it shipped but never arrived. I tried to email the seller because the tracking number for my order shows no location and I wanted to know how my order fell off the face of the earth?

When I went to email the seller I was intercepted by Amazon messaging assistant for Amazon partners. IE = AI who doesn't care because they can't. I asked for a location of my order because tracking couldn't. I received a message back that they were closed and would get back to me next morning first thing. They never did. I had hoped to talk to a human so we could work out an option that did not appear on the drop down menu. No luck with that. AI can't think. How has your experience been with this? I guess I'm asking too much now to expect good service from Amazon.

I've been buying things from Amazon more than ever since the pandemic, etc. I have no complaints, what I order comes in a timely manner and arrives in good condition. I often have more than one order per week.

The AI "assistant" always gets around to giving me to a live person if it can't help. I have had no problems with *any* customer service issue for the 18 or 19 years I've been shopping at Amazon. I think I may have even asked for an associate once before seeing if AI could help... I just can't remember what I said to make that happen.

Chic, where you click to speak to a Bot... it should also give you the option to speak to a customer assistant if the Bot can't help with your query by just clicking another option.. you have the choice to speak to someone online.. and or have them call you.. the Bot will transfer you... I've done it several times, and just last night I did it again, and I was surprised that I got to speak to a real person because of it being Easter Monday, but he was very quick to sort it for me...

I've had luck by repeatedly typing AGENT until it puts one on

To make things simple for AI, I just report that my order did not arrive. AI asked me to give it another 5 days. I did, and reported again the order did not arrive.

My order was replaced with the same item but from a different manufacturer. It arrived 4 days later, and 2 days after that, the original order arrived.

That, I did not report...didn't want to confuse AI. :p

I don’t see any bots on Amazon. If I purchased something I don’t like, I’ve never had a problem returning it. The return receipt is including in the package sent and the instructions are so easy to follow. I love purchasing from Amazon. I’m never disappointed in their overall service.

I like your idea best. I was willing to wait for a reship if the order is lost but I can't get far with these people. I'll laugh for awhile then get back to business - eventually. I never knew about this change in Amazon.

Yeah, just keep reporting Not Delivered/Did Not Arrive. Also, last time I used Amazon there was still a Not Delivered box to check on the website, so do that, too. Click on the "Returns and Orders" thing in the upper right and it'll take you there.

I use Amazon a lot Chic, when you are text typing with a bot,
say that you want help with something else, a window opens
to the left of the text window, click on telephone me now, you
will get another window asking for the number to call you on,
put your number there and click call me now, as soon as you
do, your phone will ring, no matter what time of the day or
night that it is, I use this system often.

Start by clicking your name to the right of the Amazon search
window, Hello Mike, mine says, above, Accounts & Lists.
Then click customer service from the selection, then again another
selection, but you will eventually get to where you want. Good Luck.

Mike.

I've had good luck, but I mostly buy things on Amazon Prime, which means they're on the hook for it. Sounds to me (I could be wrong) that you bought this from a third-party. I've not really dealt with that on Amazon.

I too normally pick, "All Prime", at the top left of
the page, VaughanJB.

You still get hassle, but it is easier to deal with.

Mike.

I had a problem with an order that was returned by the shipper due to damage. I waited a few days to see if they would send another one or give me a refund. When they didn't I clicked on the contact us (which was under the return item) and ended up getting a telephone call from a service rep. He was very nice and took care of the whole thing. He refunded the order and then ordered my product again and I was watching him do this on my account on the computer. I have never had a problem with Amazon in all the years I have been using it.

...I order from Amazon all the time, seems like every couple of months an order shows "delivered"...but just not to me. I usually go to my Returns & Orders and choose the item I did not receive, and tell them I didn't receive the item. Usually there's a waiting period before they will issue a refund. One vendor sent a replacement right away, which I thought was pretty decent.
