Will you get to see the the Total Eclipse on April 8?

I did hear that birds might go back to the nest for the "night."

I'm watching a square of sun on my carpet so of course my dog just lay down in it, and curled into a black circle. So I might get to see a total eclipse of the weenie dog. She will definitely blame me when it gets dark.

Wow. Just wow. This post is very insulting - and quite surprising that it came from you. What makes you think urban/suburban people don't venture beyond a "people world"? I regularly venture beyond the people world - ...
What I wrote:
"I'm not surprised so many adults, especially urban people that rarely venture beyond that people world, not only on this board but generally elsewhere, sadly, hardly understand why so many others are so interested in this exceptional rare event in anyone's lifetime...."

Understand how you thought what I wrote meant that could be interpreted so but that was not my intent. As highlighted, that narrowly was meant to address the significant numbers of urban people, a minority, that hardly ever to never leave their urban world and not a statement meant to state ALL or even MOST urban people that would be nonsense. Is why I stated so with a relative limitation. Since they rarely to never visit rural and natural areas, they are less likely to develop significant positive interests or better understandings for such places, including the night Universe and daily solar cycle. 🙂

Wow the network TV stations showing the event in Dallas hit a Home Run. Clouds from earlier today moved as the time neared and then enormous sounds from awed crowds of people that I'd bet almost all are now very glad clouds moved away and they made plans to be there.

The next really big event within 10 minutes will be with huge crowds and TV presence is at Indianapolis . Don't miss it!

Oh, wow! Just back from the highest ridge on my brother's land. I don't have the words to do it justice. I'd read a lot of what to expect but
didn't realize we'd see 360 degree sunset colors from the mountains further off that weren't in totality as long. We got four minutes of totality. I wouldn't trade seeing my 85 year old dad and my 20 year old nephew's (has autism) reactions for anything. I haven't see my nephew hand flap in excitement for years but he did today.

It’s a perfectly clear day today, so hopefully we can see some of the eclipse
Right now the sun looks like a crescent 🌙 moon. It’s starting to darken too. We are wondering if our dogs will wonder what is going on. There play time is between 7:00 and 8:00. We have a good view of the eclipse where we are. It’s very exciting.

About 70% eclipse by us, but with overcast skies, not very noticeable. Watched a few of the many videos posted - quite spectacular!

I would guess with overcast skies, the darkening of the skies with a total eclipse might be even more pronounced.

Totality here in Ohio, very thin cloud cover so not enough to impede viewing. I was on my tractor grading my driveway and as it got darker had to put my sweat shirt back on because of the temperature drop.

Had my glasses with me so stopped and watched for ten minutes or so. Glad I could observe it from my home, very unique event to witness.

I watched the whole eclipse, from Mexico to Canada and at every
stop on the way, Sky News was working in conjunction with some
American TV company, but they did have their own crews in some
places, these were in case of emergencies, like when the American
Streaming service, broke down, in Maine or Vermont, we ended up
in Eastern Canada, I left it then, they are still trying to track it, the
Orkney islands and the Hebrides are due to experience it, if there
is still some daylight left when it is due there.

I experienced a Total Eclipse in the center of London in August 1999,
I was working on an underground extension, when we all left the job
to go to the surface for a look see.

Mike.

When the moon was directly over the sun, the daylight looked like looking through a pair of pink coloured glasses OR after a lightning storm. That was really something to see. The birds kept on eating and the dogs kept on being dogs. My husband was convinced that they’d think it was play time but they didn’t. Dogs know time far better than we do even with clocks.

We didn’t have a total eclipse so it didn’t get dark. It got really dark in Newfoundland though. Some of my in-laws live there.
