Amazon's series adaptation of the game.

I think season 1 drops at once, but I haven't checked. Should be available on Prime now.

I am a huge fan of the game series (started with Fallout 1 and New Vegas is my favorite) so I am watching the first episode right now. I wasn't going to post about it on this forum because I don't think there are many PC Gamers here. I am hoping that the series can stand on it's own (like The Last of Us on HBO) so those who are not familiar with the story from the games can enjoy it.

I did just finish the first episode and I did enjoy it but as I said in my previous post, I am a big fan of the game serious so I enjoy the nods to the games and it does capture the feel of that universe. The alternative history retro 1950's look is well done. But the show is not for everyone. The first episode is violent and dark and my guess is it will get much darker. I would recommend it to those who enjoy post apocalyptic story lines and don't mind violence.

After watching the first episode... maybe I'll have to reserve judgement. It didn't really go as I had hoped, but a lot of series don't get off the ground well. Especially if they are aiming for a large fraction of one target market.

I hope the story matures, because so far The Expanse this ain't!

I would except for the TV-MA rating. I don't care for that kind of stuff.
There is some gore in spots but it isn't as sloppy and disgusting as such things often are today. I don't recall significant lewdness in the episodes I've watched.

But yeah, in places it's a little too "The Boys" than it needs to be.

I've finished season one and I have to say it was far better than I initially felt. It wouldn't be in my Top 100 SF Series but it was good and it certainly seemed to have a decent budget if that helps you get immersed.

To me even a high school production beats the trashcan with plungers duct taped on of drek like Dr Who. Most of that didn't even merit an MST3K send up.

Anyway it was interesting to watch the reveal of the real bad guys here.

I started watching but was put off a bit when I saw the naked man and it was fairly early in the first episode. I don't understand why that sort o thing is so important for writers to include these days. At least they seemed to have cut the sex scene. I'll have to get back to it at some point. Unless a show has a lot of F bombs, which turns me off, I usually try to give it two episodes before I decide whether to keep watching or not.

Might want to stay away from the show then. That word is used throughout the show. I enjoyed the show but I understand why others might not. Enjoy your Monday :)

Thank you for the heads up Mark. I can deal with it if it's used periodically and the show is very good, but so many writers seem to think it needs to be in every other sentence these days. I hope you had an enjoyable day and will have a great week. ;)
