Ok..I'm back, it's been a glorious sunny warm day today.☀️☀️

Everywhere was busy, tried to go and take some pics of the park after I came out from having my medical exam, but the park was packed, and also they'd closed off the road half way so there was nowhere to park... people were double parking on the road just to go the park, how Nuts!!🙈

Anyway I had my bloods drawn.. and a whole medical... height, weight, cholesterol levels..etc.... this was all done in a Mobile wagon, the type they usually use for Breast screening all around the country.

In the UK not sure about anywhere else, these huge mobile units travel all around, usually parking in Supermarket car parks... but today this Unit was a little different .. unlike the X-ray units... this had several little examination rooms.. and a reception area. Superbly equipped, I was very impressed..

Pretty Snazzy!

Getting my car inspected, and it will be another dreary day-I just hope I get back home to see the Masters-Round two
They had a 2 1/2 hour delay yesterday.

With the delay ,I had enough time to make a good meal-I put a pork tenderloin into the crock pot with some chicken stock, mashed potatoes, gravy, asparagus, and picked beets.

With the delay some interesting facts came out and here is one of them:

"On average, golfers at the Masters walk approximately 4-5 miles per round. This impressive distance showcases their fitness levels and highlights the physicality of the competition. The hilly terrain and long fairways of Augusta National contribute to the significant walking challenge that the golfers face."

https://sporticane.com/masters-golfers-walking-distance-explained/

The elevations change as well at Augusta, and on Channel 218 they had some good overhead shots of each hole and how the hills on the greens affect the shots, along with all of the other variables to Golf.

They expect Sun today, temps to 70 degrees, and Tee time is early:

"Play was suspended at 7:51 p.m. ET due to darkness. The first round will resume on Friday at 7:50 a.m. ET. The second round will begin at 8:00 a.m. ET.ESPN's live coverage resumes at 7:45 a.m. ET and continues through the completion of the first round."
2024 Masters Friday tee times: Round 2 groupings

I hope the players got a good night's sleep!!!!!!!!!

@Kaila: Well done on telling off the accounting people. I was zooming with some old girlfriends earlier this week - literally old on two counts: we went to HS together so I've known them forever, and thus they're also in their early 70s. During that convo we talked about often feeling invisible and easily dismissed in ways that weren't true in our younger years.

Your post demonstrates that point to perfection. Surely to heavens you have nothing better to do than hang around for an hour in the midst of your appointment while they they do something far more important. And requiring a second appointment for next week - at the convenience of their schedule - what's the big deal? Too bad, so sad for you. It's not like YOU could possibly have anything on your calendar. I mean, you're old. What could you possibly have on your calendar that's as compelling as what's on theirs?

I'd say I'm astonished at the indifferent arrogance of these louts so bereft of empathy that they don't even realize their unprofessionalism and unkindness, but I'm not. Truly, I'm not. You have my sympathies and my hopes that you're able to shrug off some of the stress. 🤗

My close friend, Marcia called me Weds afternoon, saying she would like to take me this morning to a furniture store in Hamburg, NY{south of Buffalo} to see what they have.I'm looking to buy for my new apt, a table would be my desk in my bedroom, couch/sofa in living room I could stretch out on.
I don;t know how I could manage this big move to new apt if it wasn't for her help considering I don't drive. She is a very generous, caring person I'm thankful she is in my life.Marcia&hubby Dave along with their 2 sons are my 'Buffalo family' they 'adopted' me about 15 yrs ago knowing I have no family living here. My brother is in CT he's helping me as well , my sister lives in England

My above post goes the same for you @Georgiagranny. Blaming employees who aren't present for problems is a sign of fear, cowardice, and a surpreme lack of loyalty. Did Sir not think you'd be angry and hurt? Perhaps you're too old to care or feel those emotions?

I'm sorry they treated you so unkindly. My advice: take care of you, meaning bide your time, get your EF where you want it, and then choose to stay or leave. It's so freeing to be coming from a position of choice rather than obligation or financial need.

A change of plans, Marcia just called me, a friend who lives near Hamburg, told her a flash flood had been issued for the area, its a windy day,we will reschedule our 'road trip' maybe sometime next week when the weather is better Sue

Today I started waking up in the 3 o'clock hour and couldn't go back to sleep so gave up and got up a little after 4. :( I'm now concerned about taking sleep aids, even non-prescription, due to evidence they increase the risk of memory loss and dementia. Given the choice, I'd rather be sleepy than demented.
Do Sleep Medications Increase Your Chances of Dementia?

Then again, dementia is one of the increased risks of not sleeping well. Talk about being between the devil and the deep blue sea.

Before I forget @StarSong Try tart cherry juice for help in sleeping. It has natural melatonin. Pricey as all get out, but worth it.

@Sliverfox Alas, rhubarb is just a dream for me. It doesn't grow down here because it's too hot, and I can only fondly remember strawberry/rhubarb sauce/pies. Ahhhh.

Also...one of the managers was passing by this morning, and I took advantage of the opportunity to raise holy h*ll about this week's walk-through and criticism of things in general in the bakery and specifically about criticism of the part I'm responsible for. Told her that it should have occurred to them that if something wasn't done, it was left undone with good reason and that I can't provide products that are not provided to me from the warehouse for weeks on end despite having been ordered multiple times. No one took up for me. No one. They just threw me, specifically me, under the bus.

Invisible. I can relate to feeling invisible.

I also told her that found it silly that everybody who can and should say something, doesn't. They're all afraid of anyone who's a step higher on the management ladder than they are.

I'm convinced that mid-level management must all have advanced degrees in underwater basket weaving with minors in leather shoe repair. MBAs.

And I am in a position to just take a hike right now, but I like payday too much! My EF isn't where I want it to be, but I can live with it if I must.

Tomorrow I need to check my attitude at the door before I go in.

Rant over.

I need to go outside and plant stuff.
