Breaking News : Iran launches drone attack on Israel:

It was strange, they announced the attack long beforehand giving everyone time to prepare to counter it. I think if they had wanted to do significant damage and kill large numbers of people it wouldn't have been telegraphed like it was. I agree with Fuzzy, this was a face-saving move for Iran, hopefully, it won't lead to counter-attack and escalation.

People drive along a street in Jerusalem today after Iran's unprecedented attack on Israel after the Israeli army said Iran's attack was 'foiled'.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said they have to look at the situation in the 'right perspective'.

He said: 'Israel has undertaken all the necessary steps to block this attack, which was a violent, flagrant violation of all the rules.

'I am happy we are part of an incredible coalition of nations which has been part of preventing most of these missiles and weapons and drones from coming into Israel.

'Our air defence system has proven incredibly successful. It calls for special attention by all of the key figures in the world to understand there is an empire of evil and terror.

'It's about time the world faces this and makes it clear this is not acceptable.
We are here to protect Europe. Thank god for the Israeli military and its allies and also thanks to the British forces.'

Asked about the global warnings not to escalate, he said: 'The last thing Israel is seeking in this region is to go to war. We are seeking peace, we are peace-seekers.

'Unfortunately it all started on the October 7 when Hamas led an unbelievably brutal massacre against Israeli citizens and the rest is history. We always listen to our partners and our allies, we respect their view.'

Israeli war cabinet Minister Benny Gantz released a statement to say that Israel must strengthen 'strategic alliance and regional cooperation' which allowed it to withstand yesterday's attack.

He said: 'Iran is a global problem, it is a regional challenge and it is also a danger to Israel, and yesterday, the world clearly stood together with Israel in the face of the danger.

Moment Iran began its 300-missile attack on Israel is revealed

Something is off here. None of this adds up.
I agree. Something is strange about this attack.
It's hard to imagine any country letting an act of war of this size go unanswered.

I don't agree that the advance notice somehow absolves Iran from any guilt or bad intentions. "We just sent 300 armed aircraft towards targets in your country. But, we gave you hours of warning." It's still a direct attack of one nation against another nation. They also violated the air space of Iraq and Jordon. Casualties were minimal because Israel had help shooting down the attacking aircraft.

In the past there was no doubt Iran is willing to fight to the last Hamas warrior, Hezbollah soldier, and Palestinian citizen. Now they have involved their own territory and thus their own people. Why?

It seems weird to me that Iran would wait weeks after Israel attacked their consulate to respond and then warn Israel. Maybe they really don’t want war. I’m glad that the people I knew that lived in Israel came back to the USA. They are young and have their entire lives ahead of them.

Iran, don't want war, are you kidding me? I guess I'm seeing things when I see the people of Iran burning US and Israeli flags chanting Death to America and Israel.
You think you're safe here in the USA? Think again. The Southern Border has been open for almost 4 years now. You don't think there are sleeper cells in the USA? There are thousands of terrorist in the USA waiting to strike. All hell will break out soon in the USA.
BTW: Fill up your gas tanks, the price of fuel is about to go sky rocketing very soon.

... wonder if the U.S. will send more pallets of cash to Iran now?
They probably will. There's a saying "You can't dance at two weddings at the same time; nor can you sit on two horses with one behind" That's what this Administration is trying to do with Israel and Iran and it's not going to work. My guess, Israel will go after Iran's nuclear facilities very soon. Now you all see what happens when the USA has weak leadership.

I hope not. In fact, I don’t want to see any troops sent over to help, but it wouldn’t hurt to launch a few F-35’s to drop a few MOAB’s and fire a few million dollar missiles into Iran. I know the Biden Administration is against helping Israel, but that’s not logical since we are supposed to be allies.

I think the Gerald R. Ford carrier is over there. If we aren’t going to use it for anything, then why is it sitting in the Med?

Interesting perspective on how Iran informed Turkey, who is a NATO ally, about their impending attack. Turkey then advised the US.

Iran 'clearly wanted to telegraph this': Retired colonel on how US got intel ahead of attack

These Middle East fights, wars, and violence has been going off and on for years. And I think they will continue to do so long after were all gone.
Muhammad, the founder of Islam, claimed he had received a divine revelation that Jews intended to assassinate him. He organized an army and set out to decimate the Jewish tribe of Khaybar. Islamic hatred of Jews continues to this day and doubtless will never change.

Something is so weird about all of this. Tin foil hat time again. :D
Iran got lucky that counter measures worked. They did not fire all drones there were ballistic missiles in the bunch. This was probably as much a test run for future attacks.

Russia will be supplying them even more now so they can afford to launch these mass drone attacks with more frequency. They will also try somethings differently or use more enhanced tech and fire power.

If you search the net you will find footage that counteracts what media has been reporting. That is, the suggestion that all the drones/missiles were destroyed en-route. This clearly wasn't the case, yet we're hearing much about that. The footage of multiple hits is out there. We won't know the truth until a few years have passed.
