Tornadoes tear across America's heartland

tornadoes are horrible....lived in the so called tornado alley for about 15 years....actually in 3 tornadoes...sirens, took cover, etc.
One hit right across the street but didn't cross the street to affect any homes.....one time we were driving in the middle of nowhere, stopped by highway patrol and told to take cover....we did...into a ditch...thought I'd get bit by a snake while laying there....fun times

Thankfully there is a lot of rural areas with 1000's of acres of open ground that these Vacuums sweep every year.
Heart goes out to those who have suffered awful damage. The kids had the power ripped off their roof this spring.
When you hear a monster go past you, the sound and vibrations, yea things shake some & think of a train wreck very close by, mileage wise and of course the hail if you are mostly safe of the wind vacuum cleaner cluster ****.

when I was a kidling back home in indiana, I saw areas in
rural that had the earth blown away clear down to Hardpan....that was amazing to me....there was no topsoil left
to plant crops in....
You know you saw nature at its worse thare. That was most likely as bad it can get for a bit right there. If you had been in a Vehicle you would most likely landed Many yards from where it all started. I have seen the swaths and the destruction. Grain Bins many hundreds of yards away from their concrete pedestal's crumpled messes, corn, beans and Oats all over the place. A home with Hay and Straw sticking straight out of its southern walls. One would be so dead, cruelly punctured by those projectiles. So Dead.

Just saw a report that in the last 72 hours there have been 135 tornadoes!! And it's not over yet! There are more forecast for the same areas today and tomorrow. So sad that 5 people died including a 4 month old baby. 😢Those poor people in the storm zones...I can't even imagine. For the decimated town of Sulfur, OK not only peoples' homes but their businesses and livelihoods and even places to buy groceries are gone! I pray for them and all who have suffered such devastation. Between all of the severe storms, floods and fires, America has a new crop of homeless people numbering in the thousands, maybe more like millions according to the article linked below.

"The census figures are far higher than other estimates of displacement. The International Displacement Monitoring Centre estimates that an average of 850,000 Americans were displaced by natural disasters every year over the past decade. And with climate change making extreme weather more frequent, academics who study displacement and disasters view such scenarios as the new normal.
Million of Americans are fleeing their homes because of extreme weather

A man in the video that follows the one you posted Rose, talked about coming out of his basement and realizing he's now homeless. I saw another man who said they were in the midst of seeing him and his wife's dream home come to fruition, now it's destroyed. I will say again that I hope none of our members in the tornado zones suffer injury or loss of property!

I can believe that. Even for those lucky enough for it to be temporary or who have insurance, it’s a long process. When the rebuilding starts, the price of materials go up and there’s a shortage of skilled workers. Even worse, when con men come in to sell survivors a scam.

šŸŽ¶ You say torNAdo and I say torNAHdo...torNAdo!...torNAHdo! šŸŽµ

(Ahem. I'll show myself out.)
