Hello, my name is Goober!!! Sometimes I'm just called Goob!

I'm a very special little boy. I know that I'm special because Trila and Dio picked ME, to be a part of their family!

They named me after Goober Pyle, who was one of the characters who lived in the TV town of Mayberry.

Mom has told me about Andy, her last kitty. She said that when he left, he tore a hole into her heart. Even though I'm not Andy, and never will be (I'm Goob!!), Mom has promised that if I'm a good boy, and I learn my lessons.....she and Dad will love and spoil me for my whole life!! What more could I ask for?!!!!

I guess I have a lot to learn, since my lessons started before I even got to my new "forever home". My only question is: Will Trila be able train me, or am I going to be training her!!!

I'd forgotten how time consuming it is to be a Mamma! But it's worth it!

Goober knows his name, and (unless something is distracting him) he comes when called.

He has lots of toys, but everything he finds is something to play with. He likes to carry things around, so I think he will grow into a good hunter!

It was fun watching him navigate (fall!!) the stairs for the first time!

Once he got the hang of it, he raced up and down over and over!

He has learned to walk with us, and gets rewarded with cuddles and petting!

I had a cat that looked a lot like Goob. The name of the breed is Ragdoll. Mine was a White-Nosed Ragdoll. His name was Finnian. Very pretty cats.

I had to find Finn a new home after his brother died. He got so depressed he wouldn't come out of my closet, not even to eat. I had to put his food and litter box in there, and keep the door open all the time.

He went with a lady friend to live on her farm, where she had several other cats. She said it took a couple weeks, but he slowly started making friends, and he's happy there now. But she mostly keeps him indoors because he became her lap-cat.

Ragdolls are very affectionate cats.

I am a little familiar with ragdolls. I've always heard good things about them.

I was told that Goober is a Seal Point.

I have a Maine Coon, names Cola. He's a real character. He reminds me of a Rothweiler always around my feet, trying to push me.
He's about 1/2 the size of a Bobcat & long hair. He's not quite a fully mature adult cat but good sized anyway.
I love Main Coons! I had one for 10 months. 🙁

You can read about him in my thread "Opie's Story".

Goober did well yesterday, while I was gone all day. However, today he seems 'extra' needy...he insists on attaching himself to my leg!

@Murrmurr thanks for suggesting Ragdoll cats to me. I've started to look into them. The more I read, the more I think you are right.

I've heard that they are quite similar to Main Coon cats....big and loving! 💗

I've been a bad boy. When I'm outside, I'm supposed to stay on the porch (or very near it), so that Mom can watch me. Mom has been teaching me this since she brought me home...everything I need (toys, water, food) is right there.

The other evening, I decided that I was a "Big Boy", and I ran off to explore. I got all the way to the barn before Mom caught up and grabbed me!

I knew that I was in trouble, so I gave her my best and loudest purrrrr.....and it didn't work!!!!

Boy was she MAD!!

Doesn't she realize that I'm 9 weeks old already?!! 😥
