Now, a personal question-Who does your toe nails?

Years ago, I would have laughed at that question. Of course, I'd get out the clippers and hack away. But now. I have a podiatrist. I had back surgery, which fused parts of my spine, so I can't bend down to touch my own feet. It seems like a small thing, but a lot of us can't do it.
Who does your toenails?

My mom had trouble with this after her back surgeries. I got a podiatrist to come to the home; now I take her into the office for this. Thankfully, insurance covers this service.
 
Sometime before the pandemic, I finally started going to a podiatrist that was recommended by a former nurse who was his patient. I'm so glad I did because he's wonderful. He takes time with my feet, cuts and smooths the nails, smooths the skin and adds when he's done lotion. I feel like I'm being pampered. My insurance covers the visits (I have a $10 co-pay) every three months because I'm diabetic. I take good care of my feet but no longer use polish on my toenails.
 
I suppose I do, though it's not easy. I told the nurse that they had been neglected and wanted them done, but they're so short-staffed she didn't know if anyone could do them, so I'll hack them off when they get too long.
 
Oldest daughter, first soaks my feet in an epson salt bath. Then cuts them like they recommend. I had both the big toe nails removed by a 'Professional' podiatrist who knew what he was doing. Never sorry & a whole lot less painful.. Took 2 years for the right big toe to heal properly, I had done some damage being OCD.

My medicare covered most of the costs. I had asked my doctor to refer me for a 2nd opinion. I think my co-pay was near $40.

I do my own. Podiatry should be covered. The doctor can find some diagnosis to get it covered. My eye doctor does for eye exams. My stepfather goes to a podiatrist.

Rick, do they have podiatry come into the building? They should. But if they do, be careful. They can be in a hurry doing many people and don't take the time in office would. Some toe nails get so thick they can't be clipped anymore and need to be ground down.
