Pensioners barricade thief in shop in UK

yeaaah good for them...I see it was in Manchester. Probably a little back street by the looks of that old shop..thank goodness the pensioners and the sales assistant weren't hurt.

Yes, well done to them. The poor clerk was very distressed! I would be as well.

Wow, quick thinking. But you know if this had happened in the US, the guy outside the door as well as the clerk probably would have likely gotten shot. Or are gun crimes also common in the UK and the folks involved just got lucky in that regard?

He had a knife Debby no gun...and yes gun crimes are quite common in the uk when robbery is involved but still very rare compared to the US.. if he'd had a gun then yes he would have likely shot it through the door and the pensioners wouldn't be around to tell the tale.

well it's not very rare Annie...but yes comparatively it is extremely rare compared to Jamaica, South America or the USA etc ..

Compared to the US it's rare. In the US there is open carry in many states and all you have to do is prove you don't have a criminal record. And it's legal to buy semi and automatic weapons which are only needed for one reason - to kill a lot of people quickly.

Mass murders are an almost weekly event in the US.
