25 y/o Baltimore man has 80% of spine severed in police arrest.

I am a moderate Democrat and it might be vogue to jump on these posts and stories of "police brutality", but I have seen both sides of that equation and if one has to blame an entire group for the actions of a few, I come down on the side of Law enforcement not criminals. Next time you need a cop people, call a criminal.

I agree Jim about not blaming the entire police force for the actions of a few. Myself, along with a few others here, have repeatedly said in these discussions that we know that the majority of the police force are doing a good job. The cops who abuse their power, hide behind the badge and beat or kill citizens for no good reason, cast a shadow on the whole profession. aside from being a danger to the citizens. This behavior needs to be (and is starting to) be addressed. These incidents are reality, and so is police brutality, so I, for one, won't be putting that in quotes.

I have heard police officers specifically acknowledge that this is going on with some bad cops, they do not condone it in any way, and they also want it to end because it puts them in danger themselves when cops do these things. I will absolutely be calling a cop when I need one, because that is their job, that is what they were hired for and are paid to do, protect and serve.

I spend almost 7 years as a photo journalist in the Southern California area. I have seen it all. Trust me. Most cops are good guys and they themselves call cops who act like badasses, "Hot Dogs". In my experience 99% who get roughed up do so because they are dirtbag criminals who fight the officers. These officers can't afford to fight every shift, we don't pay them to get beat up. Hence, many officers are often needed to take a person into custody without shooting him or being injured themselves. No justifying the few mavericks.
