Nope. Never heard of 'em.

Years ago, I wouldn't say I was "star struck", but at least I heard of most of the celebs. I remember when I thought my parents were Neanderthals for not knowing the names of the Beatles. But now, I'm the one wearing the bear skin. I have no idea who any of the new crop of celebrities are. I have never heard of most of the celebs on the late night talk shows. The best I can come up with is that singer whose boyfriend is a pro football player.
Are you up on current celebs, or are you like me?

I think my daughter wanted to disown me when I referred to one of her favorite songs by Pearljelly. She corrected me quickly, "dad it's PEARLJAM, don't ever say that in front of my friends".
I'm assuming this happened a long time ago. Pearl Jam is one of my favorite bands but they are considered as a "dinosaur" to the young adults and kids now :ROFLMAO:

I don't know many of the current popular artists outside of Taylor Swift. I swore to myself that as I got older I would try to keep up with the current music but that stopped in the early 2000's. The newest generations of celebs belong to the younger generation and that is fine by me. They need their own identity and that is part of it.

Me neither.. and this from me.. who worked in celebrity land for decades, as does my estranged husband still... but all these under 30 I have no idea who these people are. I think celebrity status is now made from a couple of appearances on Tik-Tok or Youtube.. or some reality love island style show..not real stars in any way...

Reminds me of the game "Race Horse or Rock Band" or something like that. As far as singers go I'm totally lost, but I recognize the cute actresses and can often remember their names.

I talk about this stuff quite a bit on here. There's a point when you realize that knowing celebrities, hit TV shows, and the latest gossip simply isn't interesting OR fun. Let alone relevant. It's a right of passage, and a welcome one at that.

We've attended a couple of "Lost 80's" concerts at one of our local music venues. Most were bands that were One Hit Wonders and faded away after the 80's. I still knew who they were. The 80's were a big music decade for me. I'm not familiar with any of the current musical groups.

I do watch Steven Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, and I usually have to listen to them introduce the new celebrities they are interviewing. Then after a couple of minute I realize I'm not interested anyway.

I did the same. I swore I'd never be one of those old geezers, who lived in the musical past. Somehow, it slipped away from me. Now, I'm one of them, my SiriusXM is stuck on the 60s channel, and the 60s TV music channel.
I was freaked out when some 20+ contestant on a game show never heard of "Cher" - "before my time".

What? did somebody forward Father Time? I am perfectly content as I am until I am not. then I may change. If you could reboot your system with modern data, would you take the red pill or the blue pill?

I'll recognize a few new faces I've heard about
I subscribe to People magazine, in the latest issue I knew who it was on the cover, Kate Hudson. Inside there were a couple people I didn't recongnize, they were actors/ actresses from recent network TV shows. I don't watch much TV no clue who they were

I'd make a claim to be a music lover. By most peoples standards, a rather obsessed one.

That said, there is so much music I just don't like, or "get". Hip Hop and Rap have completely passed me by. The Beatles are a mystery in that I just don't like listening to their catalog. The list goes on. Despite having a broad range in musical interests, it doesn't encompass everything, and certainly not everything popular. It's okay though, right?

"Late night talk show".........what is that? Who cares who the celebrities are? I tossed my TV into the dumpster 5 yrs ago and have not regretted it since. Are you saying you expected your parents to know the various names of all the beetle species?
