Who is living in a waterfront home, river, lake or ocean?

It's very appealing. But for most areas it's going to be very expensive or too rural.

The first house I endured after my mother married the stepfather was a few short blocks from the beach. It was still a hell house.

My folks owned a small summer resort and it was right on the lake. We owned it for 10 years and it was nice to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

It was a lot of work for my mom, brother and I because my dad worked 8 hours away at home. I prefer water to the mountains but Reno is surrounded by mountains and it’s pretty. A few blocks from me is a big pond with a mile walking path around it that I walk daily.

Not accurate. Tulip is right. A king tide can destroy waterfront properties. It doesn’t happen often, but it does.

On the contrary, there is absolutely nothing inaccurate in my statement. After all, heavy rains are not responsible for King Tides because King Tides are primarily driven by astronomical factors rather than weather conditions. In other words, they occur due to the alignment of the Earth, Moon, and Sun, which enhances the gravitational pull on the Earth's oceans. Heavy rains can contribute to localized flooding and runoff, but they do not influence the astronomical forces that create King Tides.

Our first house was on a canal that led to the great south bay on long island. It cost us a whopping $14000. Our next door neighbor went through the bay and into the Atlantic where he went fishing. I bought a small boat for $50 and an outboard motor for another $50.

A man that I knew in Jacksonville told me that his mother lived at the beach. He told her to park her car facing one way for half the year and the opposite way for the other half of the year. That way it would rust evenly.
