Cancer insurance. Glad I did.

This topic may have been brought up before. Excuse me if it has.

About 8 yrs ago my older brother was diagnosed with bladder cancer which he defeated, but later on he discovered it had spread to his lungs. He was diagnosed with stage 4 and has been fighting it since.

I was in a panic. I was a smoker for a long while when I was younger (much younger, I have quit for 37 ys). I felt it was probably just a matter of time before the big C came to me. So, out of fear, I took advantage of Mutual of Omaha's cancer insurance policy which cost me only about $11 monthly premium. Well, 2 yrs ago I also ended up with bladder cancer. I filed a claim and since that time have received over $2,000 in claim payments. I have actually been paid more than the accumulated cost of premiums.

This is the first insurance I have ever had which actually paid me more than the premiums. I am so grateful I made the choice to buy this insurance. Maybe this story can help some of you. I hope so. God bless.

how is the cancer doing now in your body ?... and how did the 2k help you..I mean, in what way did it help ? I really hope you're recovering..

The malignant growth was removed by resection during a biopsy procedure. I am clear now, but I must return every 3-6 months for a follow-up cystoscopy. That's where the insurance claim kicks in. Every cancer related treatment I get triggers a claim payment.

The 2k certainly is a welcome windfall. I have invested it in my favorite investment - an ETF called LIT which is a fund investing in global lithium related companies (exploration, extraction, refining) and battery research and development. It's a bit down right now but the projection for growth is huge. Elon Musk is also heavily invested and promotes the lithium research and mining ventures.

And thank you for your concern

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother's and your own battle with cancer. It's great to hear that you both have been fighting it, and that you found a way to alleviate some of the financial burden with that insurance policy.
Your story is a testament to the importance of being proactive about one's health and financial security. It's not always easy to anticipate what life might throw our way, but taking steps to protect ourselves, such as obtaining insurance coverage, can make a significant difference.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and I hope it helps others consider their options and take action to protect themselves as well. God bless you too, and I wish both you and your brother continued strength in your respective battles against cancer.
